About Us

The need for daycare facilities in Haar is high. The municipal day nursery Gemeindekrippe Wieselweg was intended to be a temporary solution as the building of the municipal daycare centre in Edith-Hecht-Straße was still to be completed. Despite its opening the need for daycare has not changed. Therefore Gemeindekrippe Wieselweg was reopened in March 2023.

Opening hours: Monday through Thursday 7.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m. and Friday 7.00 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.

Indoor and Outdoor Areas

In Gemeindekrippe Wieselweg there is enough room for two groups with up to 12 early years children each, aged between one to three years. Each group has its own room and space for group activities at its disposal, also an individual room for physical activities and tumbling zones, which is also the nap room, as well as washroom and baby changing unit.

In addition there is a staff room available used for team meetings as well as parents-teacher meetings, also an office for administrative work and a seperate kitchen unit.

Gemeindekrippe Wieselweg is equipped with an outdoor nursery garden designed to support early years children with their learning and development. Additionally, a public children‘s playground nearby can be used for play as well as a forest to spend further time outdoors.

Daily Schedule

7:00 a.m. – 8.30 a.m.        Early service in Schmetterlingsgruppe only

8:30 a.m.– 9:00 a.m.         Breakfast in both groups

9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.        Assembling in morning circle activities in both groups:
                                       Songs, rhymes, fingerplays and dances to start the day

9:30 a.m.– 11:15 a.m.       Free choice in movement and play:      
                                          Project-based learning activities  / unstructured free play
                                       Outdoor play
                                       Cleaning and tidying up, baby change and handwashing

11:15 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.     Lunch, handwashing, pick-up time (I)

12.00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.      Nap and quiet time routines:
                                       Noon: quiet and relaxing activities for those who do not                                   take a nap
                                       Nap-taking children who wake up may participate in these                                      activities following nappy change and dressing.

2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.        Snack

2:30 p.m.– 3:00 p.m.         Unstructured free play, pick-up time (II)

Food and Drink

We offer nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks before and after lunch like all municipal childcare facilities in Haar. You do not need to provide for snacks or lunch except for water in a drinking bottle. We daily serve and freshly prepare breakfast as well as snacks before and after lunch. Every day lunch is made fresh and served directly from Edith-Hecht-Straße in Haar. Meals are cooked with wholesome foods and seasonal ingredients produced in and around Haar. Children have access to water and unsweetened tea at any time.
