Introduction/specifics

The inclusive childcare center on Edith-Hecht-Straße opened its doors in September 2022. Since then, it has provided space for 123 children from the entire municipality area. The four Krippengruppen offer a cheerful and educationally stimulating environment for children between the ages of one and three. In the Kindergarten, children from the age of three until school entry have the opportunity to gain educational experiences, play, and make friends.

What's special about us is that, if the capacity allows it, we accompany families from the first year of life until school entry.

Rooms

The Kinderkrippe consists of four group rooms, each with a sleeping area that can also be used as an additional room during the educational core time. Furthermore, the hallway serves as an intergroup meeting place for children, equipped with climbing and crawling elements for movement.

The Kindergarten consists of three group rooms, each offering a different function - role play, building, and exploring. In addition, there are smaller functional rooms such as a workshop, a room for large-scale construction, a quiet room, and the library. The dining room is also a meeting place during meals. There is also a room for the in-house therapeutic specialist service.

All mentioned rooms may be used by all children under educational supervision.

The generously equipped gym on the upper floor is used by all children.

Our barrier-free designed garden invites children to movement, play, and fun. The adjacent wooded area can also be used as an educational space.

On the ground floor, there is also a stroller room that can be used for storing strollers and other small vehicles.

Daily Schedule

Our house opens at 7:00 a.m. for the children. From then until 8:30 a.m., the children arrive and have the opportunity to play and help prepare breakfast in the morning group. At 8:00 a.m., the children then go to their groups.

Our morning in the nursery:

The children start at 8:30 a.m. with the self-prepared breakfast and then, strengthened, create the morning circle together. Around 9:30 a.m., the children transition to free play, where they have the opportunity to play in the open groups and the hallway. At 10:45 a.m., they return to their base groups as it is time for personal care - changing diapers and washing hands. Between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., we have our shared lunch. Afterward, we prepare for naptime and transition around 12:00 p.m., where each child spends time in their own bed with their own bedding. If children show signs of tiredness earlier, the schedule will naturally adapt to their needs. We end naptime around 2:00 p.m. We provide the children with a small snack in the form of fruit, vegetables, crispbread, or zwieback, and transition into free play and flexible pickup time. At 3:00 p.m., we join the Kindergarten and spend the rest of the afternoon and late service cross-departmentally in the upstairs facilities.

Our morning in the kindergarten:

The children gather in their base groups from 8:00 a.m. Here, we greet each other in the morning circle at 8:30 a.m. Next, the dining room serves as a meeting place for a flexible breakfast. The children have time for free play and educational activities between 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. During this time, they are allowed to play in all open and staffed rooms supervised by our educators. The garden is also used according to the children's needs during this time. Lunch is served between 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Afterward, quiet time begins to recharge. We transition back to free play and pickup time between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., the Krippenkinder join us, and we spend the afternoon together.

Food

We offer full catering services, meaning that breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided by our in-house kitchen, which also caters for the other eight community daycare centers. This allows all children access to healthy and balanced meals. The menu plan is communicated to parents through notices and email.

The breakfast and afternoon snacks are creatively and attractively arranged by the educators.

The groups also engage in household activities with the children. They prepare muffins and cakes for farewells and celebrations, or seasonal treats like Martinmas geese and cookies for different times of the year.

Basics

We live our free play in a semi-open manner. This means that the children have their base group, but in free play they can freely choose what they want. All rooms that are open and supervised by our educational staff may be used. Our group rooms are therefore also designed and furnished thematically. There are no functional corners as one knows from the past; instead, the rooms are dedicated to specific themes, such as role-playing or building for example.

From our competency-oriented view of the child and our holistic understanding of education, an understanding of education is derived that focuses on the development of children's competencies. We understand basic competencies as skills and abilities that enable children to actively participate in meeting their basic needs and shaping their everyday lives.

In our integrative community daycare center, we uphold a humanistic view of humanity. Thus, we see each person as a unique and inherently valuable individual and respect the diversity of all people. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of gender, age, or background, religious affiliation, educational level, sexuality, any disabilities, or other individual characteristics.

Here, you can be yourself.
