Rooms

The Seestern daycare center is located near the edge of the forest on a small lake. It is surrounded by a large garden area and inner courtyard, which are also used as a play area. The facility for children aged 3-6 years consists of a building with 4 light-flooded group/function rooms and an integrated kitchen. Here, a cook and a housekeeper prepare fresh, balanced and wholesome meals from regional products every day.

The following function rooms and offers are currently available:

- Studio
- Theater world - Role play area
- Building and construction area
- Wood workshop

- Gymnastics and movement room: Our large gymnastics and movement room offers a wide range of activities for all children. Movement construction sites, games and romping around, but also the valuable and development-promoting “measuring of strength” with rules and respect is part of it
- Garden: Our garden is a place where every child can indulge their urge to explore, learn and move. Whether climbing, balancing, riding a bike or balance bike in our spacious outdoor area, sowing and planting in the raised beds, working with wood at the workbench or exploring with the microscope. Here you will find opportunities for close-up experience and discovery in various areas of life. There is also plenty of fun in the water in summer, with a wide range of activities on offer. An extra area for our construction workers also offers many opportunities to try out and develop their skills. Our inviting “chill” corner allows the children to find peace and relaxation or simply make themselves comfortable with a book. Our garden is our “kindergarten”, especially in the warmer months, as we start our
start our day here in the morning and move all the play areas outside.

- Forest group: The Seestern daycare center has a permanent forest group. The children decide
themselves whether and when they want to go into the forest. The forest-loving children should
be given the opportunity to gather and experience a lot of nature.
Knowledge transfer and rituals, as well as shared experiences in the forest are a fixed
part of the forest group. Attention is also paid to nature-friendly behavior.

Daily Schedule

The focus of our daily routine is free play in the functional rooms of the daycare center and our garden.
In addition to three meals, the day is structured by daily voluntary morning circles and various open activities such as reading time.
Young children who attend all day like to sleep in our Snoezel room after lunch. During this time, the room is closed to the other children.

Food

The children at the Seestern daycare center have the opportunity to eat their breakfast together in the hallway every morning from 07:30 - 11:00.

Lunch is freshly cooked in the daycare center by a kitchen team and is tailored to the needs of the children. The varied menu can be viewed via the daycare app. The children are also regularly consulted and can incorporate their wishes. Fruit and salad are offered daily alongside the main meal.

In the afternoon, the menu is rounded off with a small snack of fruit, vegetables and crispbread.

Basics

In open-ended work, children can decide for themselves what they want to do. This teaches them to make their own decisions and take responsibility for their actions. Each child can discover their interests and develop their strengths at their own pace. Free play and self-selected activities promote creativity, problem-solving skills, and social skills such as consideration and cooperation.

The staff accompany the children individually, encouraging and supporting them – without guidelines or pressure. This creates a motivating daycare environment in which children learn with joy and self-confidence

Open-ended work is strongly child-oriented and requires flexibility, openness, and a willingness on the part of the staff to respond to the children's ideas and needs as the situation demands.

By observing the individual interests and needs of each child, we plan a wide range of activities, excursions, and outings. Not every child can participate in every activity, but if there is a lot of interest, we are happy to repeat the activities. Participation is always voluntary. You can find information about upcoming activities on the whiteboard in the hallway.

Through active participation in children's conferences, children are given a significant say in decisions. Here, with close guidance from educational staff, children learn to make decisions and contribute their suggestions and ideas to the educational work.

Our daycare constitution sets out how children, families, teachers, daycare management, and the provider want to work and live together. To this end, the committees and procedures for child participation have also been bindingly established. Children have the right to be involved in decisions that affect them. We have developed appropriate procedures for this and created opportunities for children to participate and complain. It has been laid down what each child can decide for themselves, what children and adults decide together, and what children cannot decide. The constitution is revised regularly and is available for inspection at the daycare center at any time

Teamwork with school

In order to create a smooth transition to elementary school for the children, we regularly carry out an intensified education-oriented concept in a child's last year of kindergarten. This takes place across all groups as well as in small groups. The main focus here is on having fun while learning, as well as the essential topics for school readiness.

There is active cooperation with the Johann-Peter-Hebel School in Gundelfingen.

Teamwork with parents

The educational partnership with you as parents is very important to us. For this reason, we hold regular development meetings and have a lively exchange with you on a daily basis. We now also use the “Kita app” for this purpose. It provides you with specific information and dates, and we can also give you an insight into special educational activities.
