Current information

The Don Bosco daycare center looks after school children from school entry up to and including the 6th grade. Our children attend various primary schools in the Günzburg urban area as well as secondary schools within the city. You come to our daycare center on your own responsibility, using the school bus or Flexibus (stops in front of the after-school area). We offer our parents extended opening hours (Mon-Thurs 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Fri 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) to look after their children.

Parents have the option of booking lunch with us or giving the children a meal from home

We work on homework with each child individually and according to the child's level of knowledge. Our goal here is to learn strategies for completing homework together with the individual child. We are supported by reading sponsors. Friday is homework-free.

Your child can spend their free time in our after-school care center on their own responsibility, and various workshops complement the offering.

During the school holidays, we offer our after-school families holiday care within the opening hours applicable to the holidays (Mon-Thurs 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). We design a varied program together with the children.

Detailed information can be found on our homepage.

We look forward to seeing you

Basics

Our children are looked after in an open group structure, so each child can choose rooms, play materials and play groups according to their interests and inclinations. This enables our children to have contacts beyond their age and school affiliation. This creates a broad circle of friends and interests for each child. We are guided by the mission statement of our after-school patron Giovanni Don Bosco, whose focus was on strengthening/developing one's own skills, accepting the differences of individual children and integrating them into society as the basis of his work. Our big goal is to accompany, strengthen and support children in their development towards a self-determined life. Education in our after-school care center is based on two pillars: We support our after-school care children in developing the learning material of the respective school, and we also support the social and emotional development of the individual within the group and society.

What is important to us is close cooperation with parents, schools and external network partners in order to be able to support our Horties well through their school career.

Employee

Our children are looked after by educational specialists and additional educational staff. We receive support from a kitchen worker, a hygiene worker and a caretaker. Reading mentors are available to help with homework.

Cooperations

Our cooperation partners:

  • Our sponsor: Catholic Church Foundation Hl. Geist/Günzburg represented by St. Simpert/Augsburg

Teamwork with school

For all primary school children, we visit the teacher once a school year to discuss each child's learning development.

Teamwork with parents

.We form an educational partnership with our after-school families in order to accompany and support the children during their time at school. In discussions we discuss the next development steps together in order to integrate the after-school children into our after-school care center and to support them well during their time in the after-school care center. In addition to discussions, we celebrate celebrations together with our after-school families and go on family trips. Parents’ concerns are represented by our parents’ council.
