Introduction
“Here I can be who I am.”
Our nursery school is a place where every child can feel comfortable and secure. The foundation of our facility is a child-centered pedagogy. We see every child as an individual who comes from their living environment - with individual needs, requirements, interests and wishes. We address these and support all children in the development of their personality.
“I feel welcome here.”
Our nursery school sees diversity and multilingualism as enrichment. Different languages, cultures and lifestyles are welcome here and are seen as a valuable resource. We promote the linguistic and cultural expressiveness of all children and create space for intercultural learning and mutual respect. In our facility, children with seven different first languages are supported professionally and respectfully. Two Polish-speaking teachers, for example, enable daily contact with the neighbouring language and culture in order to sensitize the children to this. Children with special educational needs are naturally part of our diverse community. We are committed to breaking down barriers and creating individualized learning and educational opportunities for all children.
“Here I feel seen, heard and allowed to participate in decision-making.”
We are continuously developing the participation and involvement of children and parents with small but effective steps. For example, the children themselves choose the plants for the raised bed in our large garden or are actively involved in our “healthy breakfast” project through a children's conference. Parents participate through surveys in which we gather their opinions and perspectives. A regular newsletter provides information about current dates, projects and innovations.
Our educational work is supplemented by the ESF Plus program “Kinder stärken 2.0”. This enables us to employ an additional educational specialist to provide children and families with targeted support in overcoming individual learning and developmental difficulties. In this way, we sustainably improve the educational, participation and development opportunities of the children we support.
Our children's home is centrally located in the city center and has excellent public transport connections. The large garden with numerous play options offers plenty of space to run around and discover. We have a total of 116 places: 16 crèche places, 56 kindergarten places (including 6 integration places) and 41 after-school places. Special rooms are also available for therapy activities.
