Rooms

The DPFA Regenbogen School, Kindergarden and Before & After School Care Centre houses not only classrooms but individually-designed and age-specific Care Centres where the children can play and relax. The school's small kitchens are used, among others, for the school and kindergarden children's cooking activities. In addition there is a small sports room, an arts and crafts room, a music room and a media room.

Outdoor Facilities

The outdoor facilities of the DPFA-Regenbogen School, Kindergarden and Before & After School Care Centre include a playground, a "green classroom" and a school garden. Due to the convenient location of the school at the edge of a forest, there are also excursions into the forest with nature and educational elements.

Food

We attach significant importance to providing your child with a healthy diet and at the same time to protecting the environment and it is for these reasons that we offer your school or kindergarden child organic food and tea. The DPFA Rainbow Primary School, Kindergarden and Before and After Care Centre has a multiprofessional and intercultural team. In addition to teachers and social educators, our team has at its disposal a remedial teacher and an educational health carer, enabling the school to support the needs of children with disabilities. Furthermore, we have English and Polish native speakers facilitating high-quality language learning.

DPFA-Regenbogen-Primary School Görlitz

In the classroom and in the after-school care centre, the age- and development-oriented promotion of learning as an active process plays a central role. The support of individual talents, the development of creativity, independent thinking and behaviour, a healthy development of body and mind are our goals.

On the basis of new and well-founded findings in brain and intelligence research, we place particular emphasis in our primary school on the development of:

The Pleasure of Learning

The goal is to empower our children to learn effectively, to make learning subject matter usable in the longterm, and to acquire knowledge and skills independently. We work, for example, with a special mathematics teaching method as a model school of the "Zahlenland" (the Land of Numbers) Academy by Prof. Preiß.

DPFA-Regenbogen-Before and After Care Centre Görlitz

In order to support the holistic education of our students at the Regenbogen Primary School within the framework of existing concepts, learning time transitions effortlessly into playing time in the After Care Centre. Stages of intensive work are replaced by periods of rest and play.

During playtime the children learn to practice and experiment. Playing is a joy and gives the child a sense of achievement and is used as an educational opportunity in all other areas of learning.

The After Care Centre is conceptually part of the learning and development program for 6- to 10-year-old children, for the development of children after "leaving" the school door is not at an end.

Holiday Care

During the holiday break a variety of activies are planned with the children: cooking, projects, excursions - there is always something happening (please look at the holiday plan on the home page).
