Villa Holzwurm - Kinderhort der Gemeinde Gilching

Our family-supplementing and -supporting day care center in Gilching offers space for 150 elementary school children in six mixed-age home groups.

In various function rooms and outdoor areas, the children are given the opportunity to socialize with their peers in the afternoon; this is accompanied by a varied and child-oriented leisure program, balanced meals, pedagogical homework support and a colorful vacation program as needed.

Pedagogical concept

Our pedagogical concept is based on an open, situation-oriented approach as well as a balanced amount of freedom and boundaries in our day care center. Our trained staff is dedicated to providing quality education, upbringing and care in accordance with the Bavarian Child Education and Care Act (BayKiBiG).

Our aim is to help the children acquire and develop basic everyday skills and a democratic understanding in order to develop as independent and active beings.

In six mixed-age core groups with different thematic focuses as well as several different functional rooms/areas, the children can do justice to their natural urge for movement, variety and independence.

Our functional rooms and areas are currently divided as follows:

- Sports and movement (multi-purpose room, outdoor area: garden and playground)
- Handicrafts
- Painting and designing
- Rest and relaxation
- Building and constructing
- Research and discovery
- Games of all kinds
- Media
- Role play
- Music.

Overview

Subject to avaiilability of places, the selection will be made based on the following priorities:

1. children who live in the municipality of Gilching;

2. single parent children where the parent is in full time employment or education;

3. children whose family is in a special emergency situation;

4. children where both parents are in full time employment or education

5. children who, in the interest of social integration, require care in a day care center;

6. siblings.
