Introduction

Our kindergarten "Krümelkiste e.V." is a parents' association that has existed since 1988 in the southern part of Giessen. A total of 8 children (aged 0-3 years) are cared for in our small, cozy facility.

The parents' association lives from the commitment of the parents, who, for example, take care of lunch (care is taken to ensure that products are of organic quality) and hold various tasks.

In our heterogeneous team, different age groups and qualifications are combined, which means that we complement each other well. You can find a small "tour" through our facility in our gallery - if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or e-mail!

Daily Schedule

The Krümelkiste opens its doors from Mon - Fri at 7:30h.

     At 9.00h we start the day with a breakfast
     The morning we arrange depending on the situation (number of children, topics of children, weather, etc.)
     Between 11.15h and 11.45h the lunch starts
     From 13.00h - 14.30h is noon
     At 15.00h there is a small snack
     From 15.30 starts the pick-up time

At 16.30 , the day is over.

Food

We focus on a balanced and healthy diet. The caretakers make breakfast and the afternoon snack. The parents take turns in cooking lunch. The lunch is being prepared at home.

Basics

We work according to the co-construction approach and see the children as constructors of their very own world. They set their own pace and we try to support them in everything they need us to do. This is the only way the children can fully develop all their great skills, qualities and resources and develop them in the best possible way.

"Treasure hunting instead of troubleshooting" is our motto, which is why we focus our work on resource orientation. We attach great importance to co-determination and participation: the children shape the day together with us and (for example) who should change their diaper, put them to bed or sit next to them.

Attention, affection, unconditional acceptance and appreciation are the basis of our actions.

Teamwork with parents

So we are a parents association, there is close and transparent cooperation with the parents.

 In the sense of the educational partnership, a daily exchange about the child's condition is self-evident.
 The portfolio also gives parents an insight into everyday life and documents the development steps of the child.

Here we discuss what is important to us, eg.:

•      organizationals
•      the information from the different groups and organisations to which we are affiliated
•      common festivals and activities
•      recording new children
