Introduction/specifics

Our day care center is a Montessori children's home and is called "Frohes Leben".

We have a capacity of 98 children from the age of one year to school entry, each in two crèche groups with the age mix from one to three years (14 children each) and in three age-mixed kindergarten groups from the age of three years to school entry (each 23 or . 24 children) according to the principles of Montessori pedagogy.

Our MKH "Frohes Leben" is located in 07548 Gera, Nordstraße 39.

Our sponsor is a non-profit association and recognized sponsor of free youth welfare. It bears the name IFAP Institute for Applied Pedagogy e.V.

We have been part of the federal program "Sprach-Kita: Because language is the key to the world" since 2012. We have an additional specialist "language day care center" who supports the team for everyday language education with 20 hours a week, develops cooperation with families and further integrates inclusive pedagogy in our children's home.

Since June 1, 2021, we have been involved in the model project "Meeting diversity on site - professional handling of heterogeneity in day-care centers". This project is implemented by a control team in our company.

Basics

We are guided by the three principles of Maria Montessori:

"Children are different!"

Qualification

In our children's home, educational specialists who have completed a qualification work as state-recognized educators who are in possession of a Montessori diploma or are in the process of training this additional qualification.

One specialist also has a qualification as a curative pedagogue, three specialists have additional qualifications in curative education.

Teamwork with parents

Parents are the most important role models for their children and their experts.

Families and daycare centers open up to one another, make their educational ideas and educational offers transparent and mutually enrich one another.

They value each other, recognize the importance of each other's environment for the child and share responsibility for promoting child development.
