Introduction/specifics

We are a three-group kindergarten with space for 75 children aged between 3 and 6 years.
We work according to the partially open concept, which means that the children have their own fixed home groups with their teachers. However, they are also allowed to move around the building, visit other groups, go to the media corner, gym, construction room or role-play room.

Outdoor Facilities

Our kindergarten has a large garden with mature trees, which provides plenty of shade, especially in summer. The children also have the opportunity to play in the sandpit or splash around in the watercourse. There is also a nest swing, a slide and a climbing tower.

Daily Schedule

From 7.00 - 8.00 a.m.
Early service in the purple group

From 7.00 - 9.00 a.m.
The children can be brought in from 7.00 - 9.00 am. They are welcomed by our “corridor service” and go to their place and then to the group either accompanied (by a friend or a pedagogical specialist) or alone. There they can either play or have breakfast.

9.00 - 11.30 a.m.
The gymnasium, the functional rooms and the media corner open at 9 am.
During this time, there is free play, activities, play in the garden, play or morning circles, birthday celebrations, gymnastics day (once a week), toy day (once a month) and projects. The children's conference and a trip to the forest also take place in the morning.

The children can also continue to have breakfast on the go during this time. There is a breakfast table in each group for this purpose. The children bring their own food from home.

11.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
Lunch is served in the groups at 11.30 am. The majority of the children are registered for the hot lunch, some children bring a cold meal from home.
The children always decide for themselves what they want to try and what not. No child is forced to eat and/or try anything.

12.30 p.m. - 13.15 p.m.
This is our so-called “quiet time”. After lunch, the children decide where they want to go - according to their needs. They can choose between the garden, resting in the gym or playing quietly in a group

13.15 p.m. - 14.00 p.m.
During this time, the children go back to their groups or to the garden. The functional rooms and corners are also closed during this time

14.00 p.m. - 16.30 p.m.
In the afternoon, the children have the opportunity to take part in projects, play in the garden or play freely.
Most children are also picked up during this time.
On Friday, the kindergarten closes at 2.30 pm.

Food

The children bring breakfast and snacks from home. We make sure they have a healthy breakfast.
Lunch is currently provided by the "Küchenzwerge".
We also receive a weekly supply of fruit and vegetables from "Abokiste" via the school fruit program, which is offered in the form of a fruit/vegetable plate in the groups.
The children have access to still and sparkling water every day. We also serve a highly diluted juice spritzer with lunch.

Offered care types at Nov 23, 2024:

Kind of care
 Kindergarten U3
 Kindergarten Ü3

Overview

(1) Children are primarily admitted to a kindergarten from the age of three. A kindergarten place is generally allocated until the child starts school. Free places can also be allocated to schoolchildren and under-threes.

(2) An after-school care place is allocated until the end of primary school attendance. If places are available, children can stay at the after-school care center until the end of 6th grade. The younger child has priority.

(3) Children who are to be cared for over lunchtime will only receive a lunchtime care place if and as long as places are available. If necessary, the lunchtime childcare place can be withdrawn.

(4) Admission to a child day care facility is based on social criteria and pedagogical aspects according to the entry in the waiting list.
Priority is given to
a) before school entry: older children over younger children,
b) after starting school: younger children over older children and children whose main place of residence is in the catchment area of the after-school care center (school district) over children from other parts of the city
c) children whose parents or single parent have completed an education, are in employment or are aiming to do so in the long term
d) children from families in difficult circumstances who require social integration.
