Rooms

Our school break program is based on an open and pedagogically designed room concept. Existing classrooms are intentionally used as functional spaces and are adapted to meet the needs of the children.

The rooms are thematically structured and offer children a wide range of opportunities for individual development. These include:

  • a creative room for arts and crafts
  • a construction room (Lego)
  • a role-play room (Playmobil)
  • a games and movement area
  • a quiet room for rest and relaxation
  • a central common area (OGTS room) as a meeting point and breakfast area

Through this concept, children are encouraged to follow their interests and independently choose between different activities.

The facilities are complemented by the use of:

  • the gymnasium and sports field
  • as well as outdoor areas and nearby green spaces

The room concept is regularly developed together with the children and continuously adapted to their current needs.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor area offers children a wide range of opportunities for movement, play, and social interaction. We make use of the school playground, the sports field, and a well-equipped garden area.

The garden features:

  • a climbing structure
  • a nest swing
  • a basketball hoop
  • table tennis tables
  • a built-in trampoline
  • a play wagon (Bauwagen)
  • and a variety of outdoor play materials

The adjacent sports field provides ample space for activities such as:

  • football (soccer) with proper goals
  • badminton and other group games

These outdoor spaces encourage children to be physically active, explore freely, and engage in cooperative play. They are an integral part of our daily routine and are used regularly, depending on weather conditions.

Daily Schedule

Our daily routine is clearly structured and tailored to the needs of the children. It combines fixed routines with open activity options and opportunities for free choice.

08:00 – 09:30 – Arrival and Breakfast
Children arrive at the facility and have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast in a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the OGTS room. At the same time, initial play opportunities are available to help them ease into the day.

09:30 – 11:30 – Open Activity Phase
Afterwards, our pedagogically designed functional rooms open as activity areas. Children can independently choose which room they would like to stay in and which activities they want to take part in.
A variety of options are available, including creative, constructive, movement-based, and quiet activities. In addition, structured educational activities and projects are regularly offered.

12:00 – 12:45 – Lunch Time
Lunch takes place in a structured setting with the support of the educational staff. It provides space for communication, shared routines, and social interaction.

12:45 – 13:30 – Outdoor Time / Garden Time
After lunch in the cafeteria, children spend time in the garden area to be active, move freely, and release energy. At the same time, they have the option to withdraw to the quiet room and take part in relaxation activities.

13:30 – 15:30 – Afternoon Activities and Free Play
In the afternoon, the functional rooms open again. Additional activities are offered, such as creative projects, movement-based activities, or themed projects (e.g. dance, music).
Depending on the weather, outdoor areas are also used extensively.

15:30 – 16:30 – Late Care / Pick-up Phase
At the end of the day, children gather in the OGTS room. In a calm atmosphere, they can play or wind down until they are picked up or leave according to their individual departure times.

Our concept provides a balanced combination of structure and freedom, supporting children in developing their independence, creativity, and social skills.

Food

Providing meals for the children is an integral part of our educational daily routine and contributes to a well-structured and positive day.

Breakfast is organized and provided by us each day, allowing the children to start their day together in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. We place great importance on offering a varied and balanced selection. This includes a range of baked goods such as bread, muesli, milk, different spreads and toppings, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. In addition, yogurt and beverages are available. Children have the opportunity to put together their own breakfast and eat at their own pace. The flexible breakfast setting particularly promotes independence as well as social interaction.

Lunch is provided by an external, regional caterer (Metzgerei Flohrer in Stadeln/Vach), who places great emphasis on quality and freshness. The children receive a warm, balanced, and child-friendly meal every day. Attention is given to ensuring a varied and healthy diet. Individual needs, such as religious or health-related requirements, are taken into account as far as possible. Working with a regional provider also supports sustainable and responsible catering.

Shared mealtimes – both breakfast and lunch – provide children with opportunities for communication, social interaction, and learning table manners.

Basics

Our holiday care program is based on a child-centered and practical educational approach. Our aim is to provide children with an environment in which they feel comfortable, can explore their interests, and further develop their personalities.

A key element of our work is the combination of structure and freedom. A clearly structured daily routine provides children with orientation and security, while open activity formats create space for independence and self-initiative.

A special focus of our concept is the use of functional rooms. Existing rooms are intentionally designed as different areas for learning and experience, such as a creative room, construction room, role-play room, or quiet room. These rooms are open to the children as activity areas and can be chosen freely according to their interests. This approach encourages independent decision-making and allows children to follow their individual needs.

In addition to the open room concept, we regularly offer guided activities and projects. These include creative projects, movement-based activities, games, and themed events, especially during the holiday period. All activities are designed to support the children’s creativity, motor skills, and social development, while keeping enjoyment and shared experiences at the center.

Our educational work is based on the following core principles:

  • Participation: Children are actively involved in decision-making and can contribute their own ideas.
  • Independence: Children are encouraged to act responsibly and make their own choices.
  • Holistic development: A wide range of activities supports different skills and abilities.
  • Social learning: Cooperation, respect, and conflict resolution are actively promoted.
  • Movement and balance: Regular physical activity and the use of outdoor spaces are essential parts of daily life.

Our goal is to provide a supportive, safe, and stimulating environment in which children can develop freely and experience themselves as part of a community.
