Introduction/specifics

As an AWO daycare center, our educational work is based on the fundamental values of solidarity, tolerance, freedom, equality and justice.

Children up to the age of 36 months (or until they transfer to kindergarten) are cared for in four mixed-age groups by specialist educational staff. For a gentle transition, settling in can begin at 10 months.

Your child is in the best hands with us because ...

... we consider a good and gentle settling-in period to be the basis of a trusting relationship with your child

... we attach great importance to intensive cooperation with you as parents

... a structured daily routine provides your child with the necessary orientation

... we sing, play, laugh together every day, move around indoors and outdoors and much more

... we help your child to experience themselves in the group, to present themselves and to develop a healthy self-confidence

... we help your child to find their way in their environment and to recognize and deal with their own needs, feelings and behaviours

... we playfully promote all important learning and development areas (basic skills) in accordance with the contents of the Bavarian Education and Upbringing Plan (BEP)

... and because we care about your child!

Rooms

Our facility should be a place of safety and security for the children, but also provide stimulation and inspiration. Our room design, our color concept and our facilities are therefore specially tailored to the needs of young children.

Each group has a group room, a separate quiet room and its own sanitary facilities. All rooms have underfloor heating so that the little ones, who still spend most of their time on the floor, are always pleasantly warm.

Outdoor Facilities

Our facility also has a beautiful large garden with play equipment suitable for small children, such as a slide, a sandpit and balancing stones.

Specifics

Since January 2019, we have been part of the "We move daycare centers" project, which was launched by DAK-Gesundheit and the Hengstenberg-Pikler Society. Since then, every group has been equipped with movement material made of solid wood, which has been specially adapted to the needs of children under the age of three based on Emmi Pikler's findings. The children always move barefoot so that they can grasp the different surfaces through the soles of their feet. They experience the mobility of their feet and toes and how these provide a secure hold. The experiences are then used in everyday life: "What do I do when things get wobbly? What do I do if I fall?".

"Protect from big dangers - let them learn about small dangers", which also means that the children must be able to realistically assess themselves when dealing with movement and their motor skills.

We give the children the opportunity to have different movement experiences, they should be able to follow their individual urge to move and thus develop continuously. Our Pikler movement materials help the children to try out and develop movement positions and possibilities, to try things out and to become confident in their actions. We accompany and support the children in this process.

It is important to us to maintain the children's joy of movement and their willingness to be active; we want to encourage the children to have confidence in their motor skills.
