Introduction/specifics

As an AWO daycare center, we are guided in our educational work by the basic values of solidarity, tolerance, freedom, equality and justice.

We look after children up to the age of 36 months (or until they transfer to kindergarten). Our four groups comprise a maximum of 12 children and are supervised by specialist educational staff. We are happy to start acclimatization from the age of 10 months +, for a gentle start.

Your child is in the best hands with us because ...

... we consider a good and gentle acclimatization to be the basis of a trusting relationship with your child

... we attach great importance to intensive cooperation with you as parents

... a structured daily routine provides your child with the necessary orientation

... we sing, play, laugh together every day, move around indoors and outdoors and much more

... we help your child to experience itself in the group, to present itself and to develop a healthy self-confidence

... we help your child to find its way in its environment and to recognize and deal with its own needs, feelings and behaviour ... we playfully promote all important learning and development areas (basic skills) in accordance with the contents of the Bavarian Education and Upbringing Plan (BEP)

... and because we care about your child!

Rooms

Our crèche should be a place of safety and security for the children. In a familiar atmosphere, we awaken impulses and create stimuli for a child-friendly, creative everyday life. Our room design, our color concept and our furnishings are therefore specially tailored to the needs of small children. . We attach great importance to a good selection of high-quality play materials. However, for us, the natural use of everyday objects and natural materials is a natural part of enabling children to interact with everyday objects and nature in a playful way.

Outdoor Facilities

Our facility also has a beautiful, large garden with play equipment suitable for small children. A slide tower, wobbly bridge and a variety of vehicles (tricycles, balance bikes and bobby cars...) as well as a large sandpit with a sun sail and paddling pool invite children to run, romp, play, retreat and dream in the sun... All this makes you want to go out a lot.

Daily Schedule

Our daily routine is characterized by an alternation between fixed, recurring structures and individual activities in order to offer the child the necessary orientation as well as freedom and variety. We do not see our daily routine as rigid, but reserve the right to change it depending on the situation, if this corresponds to the group dynamics and the needs of the children.

Basics

Our crèche is run as a family-supplementary, company-run childcare facility and has 48 full-day places in part-time variants to suit requirements. Children aged 12 months to 3 years (or until they transfer to kindergarten) are cared for in four mixed-age groups by specialist educational staff. Children can start settling in at the age of 10 months as part of a gentle acclimatization process. A maximum of one child per group is accepted without age restriction in order to meet the special care needs of this age group and to guarantee optimal care for all children.

Our view of the child

Basically, we see the child as a fully-fledged human being from birth with their own rights and needs and as an actor in their own development. We see our facility as a platform where children can try things out, discover their own preferences and inclinations and are individually and lovingly observed, accompanied, supported and guided by our educational team. Developing, imitating, experimenting, discovering and rediscovering, experiencing and recognizing connections are elementary learning processes for crèche children. In this way, we provide the necessary freedom for self-development.

Our educational approach

We would like to show you how we support and view your child, what goals we pursue at the facility, what the children will learn, what you can expect personally and how you can contribute to your child enjoying their time with us. Our educational work with children covers all areas of learning, life and skills. This enables us to promote and support your child holistically (i.e. by involving as many senses as possible). Through the method of holistic learning, content and learning outcomes can be stored in the brain in a sustainable and high-quality way. This means for the child's future: If it has had positive emotional experiences while experimenting, trying things out and learning right from the start, it can also learn more easily and efficiently later on. For our educational work and in dealing with your child, this means

Learning must be fun and happen without pressure!

Employee

The following people work in our crèche:

- one pedagogical manager (educator)

- four educational specialists (at least one educator, one curative education nurse)

- four educational assistants (at least a childcare worker)

- one annual trainee each: Recognition year, SEJ, OptiPrax,

- one housekeeper

The staffing ratio is based on the legal requirements.

Teamwork with parents

Parents are the experts for their child and know their preferences, strengths and weaknesses. In order to provide the best possible care and support for the child, we therefore attach great importance to a continuous exchange with the parents. The more time the child spends at our facility, the more communication is necessary in order to act in the best interests of the child and the family. In the sense of an educational partnership, we therefore want to accompany and promote the child's development in joint responsibility with the parents. We value the parents and always pay attention to their special parenting skills. A friendly, open, honest and trusting relationship should develop between the parents and us. This serves everyone. The children sense when parents bring their child to the facility with a clear conscience and a good feeling, and can then feel at ease.  Our aim is to provide parents with lots of information about the daily routine, the child's stage of development and our educational work. This includes brief discussions at drop-off and pick-up times and regular development meetings. We are happy to answer any questions regarding your child's education and development. We are bound by confidentiality to maintain social secrecy! We would like parents to be actively involved in events, parties, excursions and parents' evenings. Cooperation with our parents' council (elected annually) is important to us and goes without saying; it is about joint planning and support for various topics, in our daily work and at parties and celebrations

Specifics

One of our special features is our annual gardening project. Cucumbers, strawberries, kohlrabi and currants as well as blackberries and delicious herbs for spreads and tea are planted and cared for and watered and: eaten!  The yield is highly dependent on the weather, as no fertilizers are used. Potato cultivation is more for observation than for satiety and our flowers delight our senses and sometimes decorate a birthday table.

Basic ideas of Emmi Pikler's pedagogy

In the first two years of life, the child learns the basic elements of movement independently if we adults respect and facilitate the child's own rhythm and developmental process. Through independently acquired movements and positions, the child becomes skillful, careful and autonomous.

The task of the adult is to observe the child's development with interest. The learning process is disturbed by direct or indirect intervention while the child is active. For play and movement attempts, the child needs a secure attachment, sufficient space, time, rest, suitable clothing and a suitable environment with play materials so that it can pursue its own interests independently without danger. Then the child has the opportunity to learn from its own actions and behavior. All children should feel comfortable and have the opportunity to be active on their own initiative. In this way, each child can develop their own initiative, self-awareness, self-confidence and perspective on life to the best of their ability.

The movement equipment enriches the various transition phases (crawling/standing up/running) and allows the children to try out a wide variety of activities.
