Everyone is welcome in his or her own way! 

Our children's house has been in existence since October 2019 and moved to new premises on Wiffertshauserstrasse in April 2022. In our Kinderhaus St. Johanna there is room for 54 children aged 11 months to 6 years. 

The focus is on the individual child with his or her basic needs, who wants to understand and grasp the world with all his or her senses. From birth, children actively shape their own development in connection with their environment. 

Each child grows up differently in his or her environment and brings different values, norms and cultures with him or her to our Kinderhaus. We as a children's house see this diversity as positive and want to create incentives and support for all children so that they can experience themselves as self-determined and socially competent personalities.

Rooms

The rooms in our children's house have an effect on the children's well-being, play and other opportunities for movement.

The room concept allows the children freedom & security, movement & rest as well as being together & alone. 

Our group rooms are manageable and clearly structured. All materials are freely available to the children as a prepared environment.

Outdoor Facilities

An absolute highlight of our new location is the spacious, lovingly expanded outdoor play area. It has been specially designed to meet the needs of children and offers an exceptionally large amount of space for physical activity and free play.

• Experience Nature: A beautiful, old stand of trees provides shade in the summer and makes the changing seasons tangible.
• Space for Explorers: Numerous natural nooks and hiding places spark curiosity and invite children to engage in outdoor secrets and role-playing games.
• Movement & Retreat: The extensive grounds provide room to follow natural impulses for movement, while also offering quiet zones.
• Play in Any Weather: A very large covered terrace protects against sun and rain. It invites children to participate in creative programs, crafting activities, and a variety of outdoor pursuits.

Our Daily Schedule at the Children's House:

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM               Naptime in the nursery, free play in the rooms or in the garden

From 2:00 PM                         The groups are combined, and the afternoon service begins

Until 3:30 PM                          Afternoon service with free play and a small snack; gradually, the children are picked up

Food

Breakfast

In our facility, a freshly prepared snack is available daily. The snack is prepared every morning by the educational staff in the form of a buffet. We ensure a diverse selection and source our products from regional suppliers.

Lunch

Lunch in the nursery takes place from 11:30 a.m. to around 12:00 p.m., and in the kindergarten between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Parents of kindergarten children can choose whether their child participates in the facility’s hot lunch. However, we recommend lunch for all children, as sharing a meal strengthens the children in their development and promotes a sense of community within the group. For nursery children, lunch is an integral part of the daily routine. Our meals are delivered by a local caterer.

We are guided by the group principles of Reggian pedagogy, such as education for democracy, education for social justice and education for solidarity. 

Modeling and developing respect, tolerance and appreciation in our interactions with all people. Mindfulness is one of our central values on which we orient our relationship work. We also encounter nature and the environment in its diversity. 

Employee

Our team consists of 7 pedagogical specialists, as well as 2 supplementary staff. Our team also includes a kitchen specialist.

Quality Assurance

Our work is based on the Bavarian Education Plan, as well as internal team training, observation, parent surveys, conceptualization and further development.

Teamwork with parents

Openness, trust and mutual understanding are part of a cooperative partnership. As well as mutual support and joint action for the good of the child. 

We understand educational partnership as the joint responsibility and cooperation of parents and educators in their work with the children. The basis for this is constant dialogue and communication. In this way, educational ideas and goals are exchanged, formulated and defined for the benefit of the children.

Overview

• Admission to the nursery from the age of 11 months

The Kinderhaus is located at the water tower in Friedberg and is easy to reach from many directions.

The Kinderhaus is easy to reach on foot, by bicycle, by bus or by car.
