Introduction/specifics

Everyone is welcome in his or her own way!

Our children's house has been in existence since October 2019 and moved to new premises on Wiffertshauserstrasse in April 2022. In our Kinderhaus St. Johanna there is room for 54 children aged 11 months to 6 years.

The focus is on the individual child with his or her basic needs, who wants to understand and grasp the world with all his or her senses. From birth, children actively shape their own development in connection with their environment.

Each child grows up differently in his or her environment and brings different values, norms and cultures with him or her to our Kinderhaus. We as a children's house see this diversity as positive and want to create incentives and support for all children so that they can experience themselves as self-determined and socially competent personalities.

Rooms

The rooms in our children's house have an effect on the children's well-being, play and other opportunities for movement.

The room concept allows the children freedom & security, movement & rest as well as being together & alone.

Our group rooms are manageable and clearly structured. All materials are freely available to the children as a prepared environment.

On two days of the week, the Kinderhaus St. Johanna uses the gymnastics room of the neighboring facility St. Benno. On all other days, there is the possibility of movement in the hallway, in the garden and in the group rooms.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor play area was expanded and redesigned especially for daycare and kindergarten children. It offers the children a particularly large amount of space to play, experience and discover outside.

Here, too, crèche and kindergarten children meet each other during group-wide outdoor play.

Food

Breakfast

In our facility we serve a freshly prepared snack every day. Fruit, vegetables, bread, pretzels, sausage, cheese and dairy products are purchased from a local supplier. The breakfast is prepared every morning by the pedagogical staff in the form of a buffet. Once a week we have a cereal day.

Lunch

Lunch is served in the nursery from 11:30 am until about 12:00 pm, and in the kindergarten between 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm. The parents of the kindergarten children can choose whether their child participates in the warm lunch of the facility. However, we recommend lunch for all children, since a shared meal strengthens the children in their development and promotes community in a group. For daycare children, lunch is an integral part of the daily routine. Our food is supplied by a local caterer. We attach great importance to regional and fresh products, as well as a balanced and healthy diet.
