Introduction/specifics

A Warm Welcome to Our “Schwalbennest” Daycare Centre

We are delighted that you are here! Our daycare centre is a lively and caring place for children aged two years until they start school. Across three groups, we support each child individually on their journey, encourage their development and provide a safe environment in which they can feel comfortable and thrive.

Located in the heart of Frankenberg, our centre is easily accessible for families and is firmly connected to life in the town. Here, children experience a sense of community, build friendships and discover the world a little more each day – through play, movement, creativity and shared experiences.

Every child is warmly welcome at our centre with their own personality, interests and abilities. We treat children with attention, respect and appreciation, supporting them according to their individual needs. It is important to us that children build self-confidence, contribute their own ideas and feel that they are part of a strong community.

A trusting partnership with families is especially important to us. Together with you, we aim to accompany children on their journey and provide them with a happy, stimulating and secure time at our daycare centre.

For any questions or concerns relating to our daycare centre, please feel free to contact Mrs. Linsel, Centre Manager of the “Schwalbennest” Daycare Centre, or Mrs Monzner, Deputy Centre Manager.

Rooms

Our Facilities – Space to Arrive, Play and Feel at Home

Children and families are warmly welcomed through our individually designed entrance area. From there, you enter our spacious corridor, which serves as the central meeting point of the daycare centre and connects all key areas of the building.

This is also where you will find our breakfast café – a cosy place where children can begin their day in a pleasant atmosphere and enjoy breakfast together. All three group rooms, several additional rooms and our multi-purpose room are easily accessible from the corridor.

The group rooms provide familiar spaces for children to play, learn, do arts and crafts, and explore together. Additional rooms offer further opportunities for quiet activities, small-group sessions and individual support tailored to each child’s needs and interests.

Our multi-purpose activity room is used for a variety of movement activities. Here, children can take part in gymnastics, climb, balance and enjoy being active. In this way, motor skills, body awareness and self-confidence are strengthened through play.

A dedicated quiet room is located on the lower floor, offering children a place to withdraw, relax and recharge when needed. The centre manager’s office and staff rooms are located on the upper floor. This ensures that our team remains available as reliable contacts for families while also having the space to prepare and support the educational daily routine.

Outdoor Facilities

Our Outdoor Area – Playing, Moving and Exploring

Our spacious outdoor area invites children to spend time in the fresh air every day, to be active, play and discover nature. A large sandpit and a variety of play equipment – including a seesaw, climbing pyramid, slide and much more – provide many opportunities for movement, creativity and shared play.

Children can climb, balance, dig, build and develop their own play ideas. In doing so, they naturally strengthen their motor skills, self-confidence and social skills.

Large trees throughout the area provide plenty of pleasant shade, especially on warm days. This allows children to play outdoors in a protected environment and take breaks even when it is sunny.

There is also a separate, age-appropriate play area for children under the age of three. It provides younger children with a safe and protected space in which they can gain their first movement experiences, explore their surroundings at their own pace and play safely.

Daily Schedule

Daily Routine at Our Daycare Centre

A reliable yet varied daily routine provides children with a sense of security and orientation. At the same time, there is plenty of space for free play, individual needs and shared experiences.

The daycare day begins at 7:15 a.m.. Children arriving early are warmly welcomed and cared for together in one group. From 8:00 a.m., all group rooms are open, allowing children to settle into their familiar surroundings and begin their day.

Until 11:45 a.m., the morning offers a wide range of opportunities for playing, learning and exploring. During free play, children can pursue their own ideas, build friendships and follow their individual interests. The morning programme is complemented by guided activities that may encourage creativity, language development, physical activity or shared discovery.

Children attending part-time care are collected by 12:30 p.m. Children in the full-day programme then enjoy lunch together. This shared mealtime offers an opportunity to slow down, talk with one another and experience a sense of community.

From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., all children have the opportunity to rest and recharge for the afternoon. Depending on their individual needs, they may relax, sleep or choose a quiet activity.

Afternoon care begins at 2:00 p.m.. The regular morning groups come together, giving children the opportunity to play across groups, make new connections and take part in shared activities. At scheduled times during the afternoon, children aged 4 to 6 can also participate in special “Duck and Number Land” activities. These playful sessions encourage an enjoyment of language, numbers and early mathematical concepts.

Food

At the “Schwalbennest” daycare centre, children have the opportunity to take part in a paid lunch service at midday. Sharing a meal together not only provides a balanced lunch, but also encourages social interaction and creates time for conversation in a pleasant atmosphere.

Basics

Supporting Children Together – Admission, Communication and Development

Starting daycare is an important new step for both children and their families. For this reason, it is important to us to prepare for this transition together with you. Before admission, a personal meeting takes place between the centre manager and the parents. This gives us the opportunity to get to know one another, discuss important information about your child and answer any questions you may have about the start of childcare.

Throughout a child’s time at our daycare centre, we place great value on open and trusting collaboration with families. Our educational staff observe and support each child’s development with care and appreciation. Our educational concept includes established procedures for observation and documentation, enabling us to recognise children’s interests, strengths, developmental progress and individual support needs. This helps us tailor our activities and support to each child.

Regular parent meetings provide an opportunity for personal conversations about your child’s development and everyday experiences at the daycare centre. We can share observations, discuss questions and agree on the best ways to support your child together. Of course, parents are also welcome to contact us at any time if they have concerns or would like to talk.

In this way, we build a reliable partnership in care and education, helping every child feel safe, seen and individually supported.
