Introduction/specifics

The Linnertor day-care center is a facility with four groups for children between the ages of 1 and 6 in the center of Frankenberg. The sponsor of the Evangelical day-care center is the "Zweckverband der Ev. Kindertagesstätten im Kirchenkreis Eder".

Rooms

Our Facilities and Open-Plan Approach

At the “Linnertor” daycare centre, we work according to an open-plan educational approach. This gives children plenty of space to make their own choices, act independently and develop at their own pace while still benefiting from trusted caregivers and a safe, welcoming environment.

In addition to five group rooms, children can freely choose from varied activity areas:

  • Construction area
  • Movement area
  • Corridor activity area
  • Media area
  • Creative area
  • Outdoor area

Depending on their interests, daily needs and play ideas, children can decide where they would like to play, explore and learn and who they would like to spend time with. This creates individual spaces in which friendships can grow, interests can be explored in greater depth and new skills can develop.

All areas are designed to be stimulating and child-friendly, enabling children to learn and gain experiences through all their senses. In the construction area, children can plan, design and build; in the role-play area, they can take on different roles and creatively act out everyday situations. The creative area invites children to draw, create and experiment, while the movement area offers plenty of space to be active and enjoy physical activity.

Our educational team supports children attentively and reliably throughout their individual learning and development processes. Every child is respected as an individual, with their own strengths and needs, and is encouraged to build self-confidence and independence.

In their daily interactions, children also learn to express their wishes and opinions, help shape shared rules and resolve conflicts peacefully. In addition to the freely chosen activities, we regularly offer guided activities and projects that provide new inspiration, spark curiosity and encourage learning together.

Outdoor Facilities

Our Outdoor Area – Plenty of Space for Play, Movement and Discovery

The “Linnertor” daycare centre has a spacious outdoor area that offers children of all ages a wide range of opportunities to play, be active and explore. Numerous pieces of play equipment and varied play areas invite children to climb, run, balance, build and bring their own play ideas to life together with others.

Time outdoors is a regular and valuable part of daily life at our daycare centre. Playing outside allows children to follow their natural urge to move, develop their motor skills and experience nature with all their senses. At the same time, shared play encourages friendships, creativity and important social skills.

A separate, protected play area is available for our youngest children aged one to three years. Designed to meet their age-specific needs, it offers toddlers a safe environment in which they can explore their surroundings at their own pace, gain their first movement experiences and play with joy.

Daily Schedule

Daily Routine and Childcare Hours

A reliable daily routine gives children a sense of security and orientation. At the same time, our open-plan approach provides plenty of space for free choice, individual interests and shared discovery.

Our daycare centre is open five days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Families can choose from different childcare options to suit their individual needs.

Childcare Options

Option 1

7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., without lunch

Option 2

7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including lunch

Option 3 / XXL Option

7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including lunch; subject to prior arrangement

The XXL Option, with care available until 5:00 p.m., can be offered if at least five families at the daycare centre require this level of childcare. The selection of this option is therefore subject to prior arrangement.

What Our Day Looks Like

During the early-care period, children are cared for together across groups and can begin their day in a calm and welcoming atmosphere. All children should arrive at the daycare centre by 9:00 a.m. so that they can take part fully in the daily routine and activities.

During free-play time, children can access the different activity areas. Depending on their interests, they may choose to build, create, move, take part in role play or enjoy time in the outdoor area. Our open-plan approach allows children to follow their own play ideas, choose their playmates independently and develop their confidence and independence.

A flexible breakfast time is available throughout the morning. Children can have breakfast within an agreed time frame and decide for themselves when they need a break. This makes breakfast a relaxed, child-friendly time for conversation, community and recharging their energy.

At 11:30 a.m., we come together for a shared closing circle. During our small children’s meetings, children have the opportunity to reflect on the morning, share their thoughts and help shape the group community.

Lunch is served in different group rooms in a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Children in the nursery group eat at 11:15 a.m. and begin their rest time from 12:00 p.m. Children aged two and over also have a rest period after lunch. Depending on their individual needs, they may sleep, relax or choose a quiet activity.

Children may be collected from 2:00 p.m. onwards. The afternoon programme is guided by the children’s interests and needs and, much like the morning, offers time for free play, creative ideas, physical activity and shared activities in the various activity areas or outdoors.

Food

At the “Linnertor” daycare centre, children have the opportunity to take part in a paid lunch service at midday. Sharing a meal together not only provides a balanced lunch, but also encourages social interaction and creates time for conversation in a pleasant atmosphere..

Cooperations

The Linnertor day-care center works in an open concept. The children are assigned to core groups so that the legal guardians have fixed contact persons for development talks, for example.

Celebrating Together and Building Community

Celebrations, special activities and shared experiences are a valuable part of everyday life at our daycare centre. At regular intervals, we create special opportunities for children, families and the daycare team to come together, be creative, play and enjoy meaningful moments as a community.

Whether through seasonal celebrations, themed activity days, creative hands-on events or opportunities to meet and connect, our events give children the chance to share their ideas and abilities, try new things and experience themselves as part of a strong community.

At the same time, these occasions offer families a relaxed setting to talk to one another, make new connections and get to know our daycare centre as a lively place for meeting and exchange.

We will, of course, inform you about planned events and dates well in advance.

Holiday Care

Here for Families All Year Round

The “Linnertor” daycare centre has no regular holiday closures. Our centre is generally available to families during school holidays as well, providing children with a reliable and familiar place for care.

This helps parents balance family life and work, while allowing children to enjoy play, movement, shared activities and time with their friends in a familiar environment during the holidays.

Should exceptional closure periods be necessary, these will of course be discussed with families in advance and communicated in good time.
