The Carl Zeitler Kindergarten in northern Forchheim opened its doors for the first time on November 4, 1996, following a construction period of just four months.

The Carl Zeitler Kindergarten is a two-group facility offering care for up to 50 children.

The groups are mixed-age and mixed-gender, comprising children of various nationalities.

The kindergarten features two group rooms, each with an adjoining room; additionally, the hallway serves as a play area during the morning. The gymnasium provides space for both active play and relaxation.

Our garden consists of open lawn areas bordered by numerous bushes, shrubs, and fruit trees, which offer plenty of shade in the summer.

Basics

A key element of our educational concept is working according to the situation-based approach developed by Dr. Armin Krenz.

"Children are increasingly being deprived of the opportunity to simply be children. This encompasses their play, their magical thinking, their exploration of the world, their dreaming, their individual experience of time, and their search for orientation. Only when a child can grow within their own developmental world largely free from disruption are they able to build their own identity and a stable sense of self-worth," says Dr. Armin Krenz.

This approach is rooted in the children's lived reality and is shaped by their inclinations, interests, needs, and life circumstances. These factors form the foundation of our educational practice at the kindergarten. We also incorporate the children's immediate environment and their relationships with public institutions.

Our approach to care and education is exclusively democratic and cooperative, treating the child as a partner. We familiarize the children with the values, norms, and rules they need to integrate into society. In doing so, we apply the situation-oriented approach to our educational work. We interact with the children on an equal footing, treating them with appreciation and understanding.

Description and Stations

The Carl Zeitler Kindergarten is located in the far north of Forchheim within a traffic-calmed zone; nestled between large apartment blocks and scattered single-family homes, it enjoys a location on the edge of town. Ample marked parking is available on Bügstraße. From there, it is just a short walk down to the kindergarten, the grounds of which adjoin a spacious playground.

Our kindergarten is situated next to the A 73 motorway (though noise levels are kept low by a sound barrier), close to the motorway access ramp and benefiting from good local infrastructure. The Adalbert-Stifter-Schule, Georg-Hartmann-Realschule, and other schools are nearby. A commercial area featuring Lidl, Norma, repair shops, and petrol stations is located in the immediate vicinity.
