Preschool children:

Preschool children aged 5 up to school entry are cared for in our satellite group located in the annex at Kasernstr. 7 in Forchheim.

Introduction/specifics

Our children's center consists

  • of two nursery groups,
  • three kindergarten groups, and
  • one "preschool group."

In total, our facility accommodates

  • 24 nursery children aged 1 to 2.5 years,
  • and 100 kindergarten children aged 2.5 years up to school entry.

A special feature is our "preschool group" for children in their final year of kindergarten.

In this group, children are specifically prepared for the transition to school, with attention paid to their interests and needs during this final year.

Basics

At the Gerhardinger Kinderhaus, the child—with their unique personality—is at the heart of everything we do. Our approach is centered on specific situations and needs, incorporating the children's interests, experiences, and everyday lives into our daily routine.

Participation, independence, and social skills are highly valued. Children are given diverse opportunities to actively explore their surroundings, make their own decisions, and take on responsibility.

To this end, we offer the children targeted activities, including:

  •     Language development and early literacy
  •     Nature and environmental experiences
  •     Creative, physical, and musical activities
  •     Preschool preparation and German language preparatory courses
  •     Projects based on the children's interests

It is always important to us that the children:

  •     Acquire and strengthen social skills

  •     Develop a joy for learning
  •     Learn to appreciate people, nature, and the environment
