Basics
Our view of people at the Sonnenblume after-school care center is based on a holistic understanding of children, parents and families. We see the child as an individual being who actively explores their environment and is constantly learning and growing through their curiosity and thirst for action. We respect the diversity of personalities and life situations of children, parents and families, regardless of gender, origin, religion or social background.
Our educational approach is characterized by inclusion, participation, openness and transparency. We are actively committed to the inclusion of all children, regardless of individual characteristics or needs.
We treat parents and families with openness and respect, regarding them as equal partners in our educational work. Transparent communication and cooperation on an equal footing are fundamental for us in order to build a trusting relationship and jointly promote the well-being of the children.
We see diversity as an enrichment and opportunity for our community. We consciously create spaces in which differences can be perceived and experienced as positive and promote respectful interaction with one another. By valuing and accepting diversity, we support the children in developing into self-confident and tolerant people who are open to new experiences and encounters.
At the Sonnenblume after-school care center, we attach great importance to a supportive environment for homework that enables the children to work quietly and independently.
Completeness is an important aspect of homework, so we make sure that the children complete their tasks carefully. We foster a culture of error, where mistakes are seen as a natural part of the learning process. Children are encouraged to recognize and correct their own mistakes in order to learn from them.
Various aids are available to help the children with their homework. These include headphones, seat cushions, 100s boards, dictionaries, number rays, ABC lists and much more.
