The Franconian International School (The FIS) is an IB World School offering education to students from 3 to 18 years old. As multilanguage leaders with English as our language of instruction, we seek to develop global competencies and and support students to be caring, curious, respectful, have integrity and a strong sense of belonging to our school community. The FIS Early Years is part of our Primary School and follows the IB (International Baccalaureate) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Our students learn through units of inquiry on a specific central idea for several weeks. EY3 is our youngest class, for students who are three years old by 30 September. EY4 is for our four year olds and EY5 is for our five year olds. 

Learning is transdisciplinary and overseen by our PYP Coordinator and Heads of Department for Mathematics, English Language Arts, German, Science, Social Studies, Personal Health Education, and The Arts. A child beginning their learning journey in our Early Years at three, four or five years old will embark on a journey to become a lifelong learner through developing  self-management, social, research, communication and thinking skills.
