Rooms

Our 3-group facility offers space for 55 children aged 1-6 years in three different group forms. The ‘raccoon group’ has 25 children aged 3-6 years, the mixed-age ‘squirrel group’ has up to 22 children aged 2-6 years and the ‘shrews’ crèche has 10 children aged 1-3 years.

The spacious entrance area consists of a vestibule and a long corridor with a parent information wall and the cloakroom areas for each group.

The three group units each consist of a group room and an adjoining intensive room. In the crèche, this is used as a bedroom. The children have access to two washrooms, each with four toilets at a height suitable for children and a nappy-changing table. The centre also has an exercise room, a quiet room, a workroom for creative activities and a bistro for shared snacks.

The respective group rooms offer different play and experience areas:

A creative area for painting and handicrafts.
A building corner with different building materials for construction.
A doll's corner with a play kitchen to encourage role play.
Tables for rule games, puzzles, card games, etc.
A sofa as a retreat for cuddling, reading and relaxing
In the crèche, a breakfast table with particularly low chairs for sitting down and standing up independently.
Cupboards and shelves for play materials are available in each group room. The different play areas meet the children's needs, but the group room remains manageable and child-orientated in order to encourage the children to play and stimulate their imagination. The quiet room is used at lunchtime for sleeping or resting. The workroom invites children to do handicrafts. Child-appropriate tools are tried out across groups and with pedagogical support.

The respective groups eat breakfast together at fixed times in the bistro. This is intended to strengthen the sense of community.

Outdoor Facilities

Our building is located on the edge of a residential area and borders a forest. It can be easily reached by families on foot or by public transport. There are also plenty of parking spaces available for families. Tall trees surround a large part of the playground and offer children protection from the sun while playing. Child- and age-appropriate outdoor equipment provides children with incentives for a variety of exercise. Swings as well as a climbing tower and a ground trampoline offer the children the opportunity to fulfil their urge to move. There are also plenty of vehicles available for the children. The youngest children have their own separate area with a swing, slide tower and sandpit where they can let off steam in a safe environment.

Basics

At our centre, we work according to the situational approach. This concept aims to support children from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds in understanding their living environment and shaping it in a self-determined, competent and responsible manner. By participating in real life, the children acquire knowledge and skills and thus play a role as active subjects.

The aim of our educational work is to develop the personality of each individual child. This is characterised by self-competence, social competence, professional competence and physical competence.

What does this mean in detail? How do we implement this in our educational work?

Our educational work is based on the orientation plan for education and upbringing. As the name suggests, this provides orientation and creates a basis for the early and individualised support of children.

In addition to the task of education and care, we also have an educational mission to fulfil.

Our aim is to support children in growing up to become independent, self-reliant and socially competent personalities. In doing so, we see the child as an individual and take their needs, cultural and ethnic backgrounds into account.

In order to realise our educational mission, we have set the following priorities as an institution:

Environmental education focus
Everyday integrated language development
Focus on movement education

Cooperations

Cooperation with the daycare centres in the municipality of Eisingen, the primary school and its after-school care centre as well as ‘Families in the Centre’ (KiFaMi).

We are also networked with associations and various advice centres. This also includes active participation in community life, such as taking part in festivals or the annual Christmas tree decorating.
