Welcome to St. Catherine's Catholic Kindergarten!

A brief overview of our facility:

Our two-group St. Catherine's Kindergarten is nestled in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Hegau region and is located in the Honstetten district of Eigeltingen. We offer places for up to 44 children aged 2 to 6 years. We operate according to a semi-open concept. This means that each child has their own core group, but also has the opportunity to visit the other group, for example, for a morning.

In 2019, the kindergarten was modernized and expanded. Based on our knowledge and observations, our qualified educators consciously design the rooms and prepare the materials we offer. We pay attention to the existing situation, the children's wishes and needs, and involve them in the design of the rooms.

We have a large outdoor area where we give the children the opportunity to satisfy their need for movement. We use this area daily. Furthermore, starting in May 2026, the newly constructed Tudoburg Hall (directly next to the kindergarten) will be available for our physical activity programs.

There is an active partnership between St. Katharina Kindergarten and the primary school. We work together according to the "Educational House" concept. This aims to facilitate a smooth and positive transition for preschool children into primary school.

A key requirement for the success of this concept is close and transparent cooperation between parents and educators.

Special Features:

We are BeKi certified! A special feature of the state initiative BEKI is the BEKI certificate for daycare centers. Since 2009, nutrition-conscious daycare centers have been able to embark on a journey to optimally combine enjoyable and balanced eating habits with practical nutrition education. The most important goal of the certification is to raise awareness of food and drink in early childhood education and to anchor this goal in the educational concept.

We participate in the EU School Scheme! The EU School Scheme has been implemented in Baden-Württemberg since the 2017/2018 school year. The aim of the scheme is to teach children that fruit, vegetables, milk, and dairy products are not only healthy but also delicious. Through the EU School Scheme, children in daycare centers and primary schools regularly receive an extra portion of fruit, vegetables, milk, and dairy products from regional suppliers.
