Introduction/specifics

Short portrait of the Dettenschwang kindergarten

The small, rural district of Dettenschwang is located in the west of the market town of Diessen am Ammersee. Since 1998, children can be cared for in age-opened groups in an old school building. In 2021, the kindergarten was expanded by one group.

Thus, a total of 67 children aged 1 to 6 years and 5 school children can now be cared for in three kindergarten groups.

Like the Kinderhaus in Riederau, the kindergarten is under the municipal sponsorship of the market town of Diessen am Ammersee.

We are a family-supporting and supplementary institution.  In our work, it is very important to us that your child can learn in an environment in which it feels secure.

A holistic education, respecting the uniqueness of your child, is a matter of course for us. Our aim is to make your child strong for the challenges of life and to develop a love of learning.

In order to achieve these goals for your child, it is very important that we work in partnership and trust with you as parents. We complement the education and upbringing you give your child at home.

We offer your child fixed rituals in the daily routine to give him/her security. We regularly go to gymnastics and offer adventure days (forest days, walks, excursions) for a varied kindergarten time.

Being able to experience community with consideration, mutual support and polite cooperation are important values for your child.

Rooms

Our kindergarten premises

The kindergarten is an old, converted school building, with different rooms for different activities. There are two groups on the ground floor, which are connected with a small adjoining room. The newly built group is located on the upper floor.  It is connected to the lower groups via a staircase.
We also have our own small gym. A staff room and office are also available for our team and for parent meetings.

Outdoor Facilities

Our garden
In our garden you will find many possibilities to move and train all your senses. Your child will find a large sandpit, camel ride, climbing tower, slackline and a barefoot path. There is also a garden hut with vehicles, goals, sidewalk crayons, etc.
From the upper group, a slide leads into the garden, which may be used by all groups under supervision.
In spring, summer and autumn we also have the opportunity to plant, tend and harvest our vegetable patch together. Thus, your child can watch the food grow and participate in the processing.

Daily Schedule

Our daily routine:

The daily routine is structured similarly in all three groups.
We start at 7:30 a.m. every day with the early service in the hedgehog and tree group. In the hedgehog group, the children of the chick group are looked after until 8:00 am. At 8:15 a.m. we finish our bring time.
This is followed by a morning circle in the respective group, lasting approx. 30 minutes.
Afterwards, breakfast is served together. In the tree group the activities start with a snack.
Directly after the common snack, the free play time begins with various activities.  In addition to painting and handicrafts, the children can also visit children in the other groups or go to the gym to exercise. Various table games are also offered, or individual educational activities take place in small groups.
Once a week, all groups go to gymnastics.
After free play time, all children go into the garden.
From 12:15 to 13:00 the first pick-up time for the "non-food children" takes place.
The lunch children are picked up on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 11:45 a.m. for lunch together.
After a lunch break, which is arranged individually according to the needs of the respective groups, the second pick-up phase begins at 2 pm.
At 2:15 pm, the afternoon begins for the remaining children with free play time in the garden or house. During this time, our children are mixed across groups.  Here too, various activities take place according to the children's needs.
The children can be collected from 3 pm. Our facility closes at 4:00 pm (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) for all children.
On Wednesday and Friday, the centre closes at 2 pm for all children.

Food

Our food in the kindergarten:

In our kindergarten we attach great importance to a healthy and balanced diet for our children.
The common breakfast takes place after the morning circle. The tree group alternates between joint and sliding breakfasts. The children bring their own breakfast, depending on their appetite. Once a week we have a communal breakfast with milk, dairy products and a box of fruit and vegetables. This organic box is sponsored by the school fruit programme, by the government. Our supplier is the Demeter farm Stümpfl in Mindelheim.
The lunch is delivered to us by the Kreisseniorenheim Vilgertshofen. This enables us to offer a varied lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Here it is important to us that our children develop joy and enthusiasm for their food and enjoy the social gathering.
Our children always have the opportunity to drink at any time. Drinks are provided by the kindergarten.

Basics

Our pedagogical aspects:

Each child has a fixed group and fixed caregivers. This gives our children security and a good basis. At the same time, we also work across groups in various projects or activities. Here, the situation-oriented approach is important to us. Project topics are mainly agreed upon and planned together in the respective groups on the basis of children's conferences. Holistic approach and addressing all senses is very important to us.

Cooperations

Our cooperations:

We work together with the Interdisciplinary Early Intervention Centre in Landsberg.
Once a year we offer our parents a development talk. In between, we offer parent meetings as needed. These can be arranged individually with us.
