Introduction/specifics

Who we are:

The Butzbach Forest Kindergarten "Little Wolves" is located in the idyllic "Owl House" on the edge of the forest in the Hausen district of Butzbach. We offer places for up to 20 children from the age of 3 until they start school. The large, natural outdoor area and the beautiful surroundings with forest and meadows are our place of learning and experience.

What we offer:

- Living and learning from and with nature
- Experience and learn respectful handling of the treasures of nature
- Close cooperation with the association "Eulenhaus e.V.".

What makes us special?

Outdoors in wind and weather Lots of movement on rough terrain, but also experiencing silence and tranquility in nature. Creative play with materials from nature and in nature.

Food

We have breakfast together each day on the Owl House grounds before heading out into the forest. The children bring their own breakfast and a water bottle from home. Breakfast should be wholesome and sugar-free. At 12:30 p.m., lunch snack will be held for those children who stay until 2 p.m.. For this, the children bring a snack or something warm in a thermo container. We provide tea and water. Once a week, we prepare a healthy breakfast together with the children, for which each child can bring something.

A warm lunch is not offered in the forest.

Basics

Children acquire the world by actively engaging with their social and spatial environment. This is how they understand themselves and their environment. Our goal is for the children to develop an age-appropriate ecological and social awareness and to strengthen their skills for shaping the future.
The forest kindergarten offers children a variety of experiential spaces and promotes movement, language, health and social interaction in a natural way. Through a fixed daily routine and clear structures, we give the children a safe space in which they can develop freely, despite the lack of walls. We place a lot of emphasis on free play, which strengthens the children in their social development and creativity.

Teamwork with school

Since our children come from different catchment areas, we work together with several elementary schools in and around Butzbach. The goal is to prepare and accompany the transition to school as well as possible. Taster days are held at the schools and in some cases the teachers visit us to introduce themselves to the prospective school children.

In the last year before starting school, the prospective school children meet once a week for "preschool work".
