Introduction/specifics
Welcome to the Zwergenland daycare center in Olbersleben!
Our daycare center is located in a quiet, natural setting on the outskirts of Olbersleben in the rural community of Buttstädt—an ideal place for little explorers. In our lovingly designed rooms, two educational specialists care for up to 52 children aged one year to school age in three groups. Especially for our youngest children, the separate nursery building with needs-oriented familiarization offers a protected and sensitive start to their time at the daycare center – an important foundation for successful development.
Our educational work focuses on a needs-based and situation-oriented approach, which we combine with an ever-growing focus on sustainable education. The children actively participate in shaping their everyday lives – whether it's planning activities, helping with meals, or contributing their ideas to the daily routine. Our children's kitchen is the heart of the daycare building. It is a place of discovery, experience, and enjoyment.
The spacious outdoor area with a sandpit, climbing tower, swing animal, and adjacent gym, which can be used daily, invites children to engage in a variety of physical activities and play experiences. Regular hikes in the surrounding area—for example, to Ellersleben or Guthmannshausen—also promote a connection to nature and community. The sports field and playground in the immediate vicinity round out our offerings.
Our educational team consists of six dedicated professionals and a manager who is currently studying “Leadership and Management in Early Childhood Education.” Together, we value trusting cooperation with families. Parent involvement, feedback via our feedback staircase, an active parent council, and close cooperation with the daycare support association make our daycare center a place of togetherness.
A special treat for our youngest children is the new aquarium in the nursery – a lively place of learning that inspires calm, wonder, and conversation.
Lunch is delivered fresh daily from the Diakoniewerk Apolda. The children bring their own breakfast and snacks – this also gives them the opportunity to have a say in the choice of their meals at home.
