Introduction/specifics
- Presentation
In the rural community of Buttstädt, in the district of Hardisleben, is our kindergarten "Hardislebener Spatzen", surrounded by gardens. Here we care for up to 35 children aged from one year to school entry in an open concept. Depending on the situation, we open the nursery and elementary areas, allowing children the opportunity to freely choose their primary educators and functional areas based on their interests and developmental status. The uniqueness of each child is at the center of our educational work. We educators support children according to their interests and developmental stage to become self-confident and self-determined individuals. A high degree of participation from all those involved in the developmental process is important to us.
If we have piqued your interest, we would be very pleased to hear from you - we are always available for questions and warmly invite you to get to know our daycare center and staff personally.

- Facilities
Our daycare offers children diverse and lovingly designed spaces for discovering, playing, and learning.• The Sparrow's Nest welcomes the youngest from one year old and provides a protected, warm environment for feeling good and initial exploration. Here, a play carpet, a raised area, and a puppet corner with a children's kitchen invite to play, tell stories, and explore. A cozy relaxation area with books offers children opportunities for retreat and space for shared cuddling and reading moments.• The Auberg room is named after one of our hiking destinations. Here, children have a space designed for their growing independence. It also provides room for a large play carpet, a dressing-up corner, and a dollhouse. With Playmobil figures and various materials, it invites building, constructing, and role play. • The Sun Sparrows (approximately 4 years until school entry) find stimulating materials and play areas in their group room that promote their curiosity, creativity, and preschool skills. In this group room, up to 20 children have space for eating and sitting together. Various social and board games encourage joint playing. In a back corner, the children can engage in craft activities at a workbench. Additionally, there are two creative tables with a variety of materials (drawing on Montessori pedagogy) such as paper, scissors, and glue, inviting them to craft and experiment. Furthermore, our daycare has a staff room where educators can spend their breaks, make preparations, or prepare for development discussions. Individual support sessions also take place here. Directly adjacent is the office of the daycare management, which provides space for organization and administration. Through the hallway, where there is a large Lego wall and a building table with various construction materials, one reaches the children's cloakrooms. There is also a relaxation room for unwinding and listening to stories, the small kitchen for our technical support, as well as the large bathroom with a changing table. All rooms are friendly, bright, and child-friendly, so that every child can feel safe and grow in their development.
- Outdoor Area
The outdoor area of our daycare also offers many opportunities for children to play and move. A spacious green area invites children to romp around, while the paved area is used for riding vehicles, drawing with chalk, or sweeping. In the meadow, there is a garden shed that serves, among other things, as a 'parking lot' for the children's vehicles. The large sandbox, which is surrounded by the climbing tower with slide, is particularly popular and invites climbing, digging, and creative play.In the garden, there is a raised bed where children can plant and take care of their own vegetables. A special highlight is the candy cone fairy, who lives in a tree in our garden and inspires the children's imagination.
- Education
The foundation of our education is the 'Thuringian Education Plan up to 18 years' for the basic and elementary areas, as well as the concept developed by our staff. As a family-complementary facility, we create diverse experiences and learning environments for children outside of the family context. In doing so, we support their holistic development, discover resources, promote social skills, independence, and individual learning processes, and offer them the opportunity to explore different life and experience spaces.Accordingly, we work according to the 'Life-Related Approach'. In 2024, our facility qualified as a 'Treasure Hunt Kindergarten' through the commitment of the educators. Our daily movement activities (yoga, children's sports, hikes, free play in the house and garden, use of the multi-generational playground) and a qualified instructor distinguish us as a "movement-friendly kindergarten" in cooperation with the district sports association and the sports club. Highlights include hikes to neighboring communities, bike and vehicle tours, and excursions to agricultural businesses. Our children love to be in nature, regardless of the weather, exploring and perceiving with all their senses. Further collaborations exist with the "State Primary School Rastenberg." Here, school trial days and participation in festivals and celebrations are facilitated as part of preschool education. Our sponsoring dentist regularly conducts playful activities on the topic of dental health and healthy nutrition as part of dental prophylaxis. In the context of early support, we have external specialists from the Youth Welfare Office, IFF, and specialized consulting actively and advisory at our side.
- Team
Our daycare team consists of a total of 5 dedicated educators: 1 childhood educator (BA), 3 state-certified educators, and 1 disability support worker. We are supported by a technical staff member who reliably accompanies the daily routine of the daycare. What distinguishes us is our friendly and professional collaboration. We place the children and their individual development at the center and work with passion and vocation to provide each child with a loving and supportive environment.
- Parental Cooperation/Education Partnership
Collaboration with parents is of great importance in our daycare. We see the parents as the most important caregivers of their children and as valuable partners in promoting and supporting their development. Together, we want to provide the children with a loving, safe, and nurturing environment.
Forms of Parent Cooperation
We place great importance on an open and regular exchange with parents. We offer personal conversations, development meetings, parent evenings, and written information about current projects and offerings. We are always available for discussions regarding questions, suggestions, or concerns. With the Kikom app, parents receive daily insights into our educational work and the children's daily lives, while also being informed about current topics and dates. Our dedicated parent council supports us in planning and executing festivals and celebrations, addresses the concerns of parents, and is always ready to listen to children and educators. Short chats at the door are also welcome at any time to facilitate quick and uncomplicated conversations.
Opportunities for Parents to Participate
Parents can actively take part in the daily activities of the daycare and get involved, for example, by supporting projects, parties, or excursions. Ideas, suggestions, and engagement are always welcome, because the co-designing of the daycare is a shared experience that enriches children, parents, and educators alike.
Throughout the kindergarten year, we experience valuable shared times with the families such as:
• Craft afternoons
• Thematic parent evenings and afternoons
• Summer festival
• Sports festival
• Christmas concert
• Fairytale performance by parents and educational staff
• Regular development discussions and daily personal exchange
- Catering
In our daycare, we focus on a balanced and lovingly organized catering. The children bring breakfast from home. The lunch is provided by the Markus community from Hauteroda. Both our daycare and the catering service take into account intolerances and religious guidelines. We prepare the snack together with the children as part of our activities, during which our technical staff also prepares the snack for the children. This way, the children learn in a playful manner to take responsibility and to help shape the process of a meal.
