Introduction/specifics

In our facility we offer space for 130 children. The basis of our pedagogical work is a humanistic and democratic view of man. We treat all people with respect and appreciation.

In the KiTa R.-E. children can be cared for from the age of 1 until they start school. An intensive relationship between the family and the day care center is indispensable and has a positive effect on the child's development.

Rooms

The KiTa is located in two buildings. In the main building we care for the three to six year olds in four groups of 25 children each. Our two crèche groups, each with 15 children aged one to three, have been located in a modular daycare center (interim solution) since the beginning of 2020.

Both buildings are barrier-free and all group rooms have an exit to the outdoor area!

An essential component is the room design. Here we are guided by the needs and developmental stage of the children, which means that each group room is individually designed and the functional areas are interchangeable.

Outdoor Facilities

A natural outdoor area as well as the adjacent forest offer opportunities for walks and exciting experiences with nature.

The nursery has its own outdoor area.

Daily Schedule

Our daily routine includes rituals and fixed procedures that offer the children security and structure. In the course of the day, there are different offers and activities. Seasons, festivals and celebrations, the interests of the children and current topics are taken into account.

Food

Nutrition in childhood sets the course for a healthy lifestyle. Regularly there are actions in the KiTa "STARKLAND", e.g. self-prepared healthy breakfast, muesli or milk day. In our KiTa we offer a joint breakfast in the day nursery and a rolling breakfast in the kindergarten. Lunch is taken together in all groups. In the afternoon, there is a snack round in the crèche at 14:00 and in the Kiga full-day group at 15:00.

Basics

The pedagogical work is based on the situation-oriented approach, which focuses on the children's life situations, and on the orientation plan for education and upbringing of the state of Lower Saxony.

We create a living and experiential space that meets the needs of the children and is linked to their stage of development. The daycare center is politically, religiously and ideologically tolerant and offers each child an appreciative, appealing and respectful environment.

We practice everyday integrated language education and language promotion in the day care center with the goal of accompanying children individually and differentiated in their language development process.

In the context of everyday integrated language education and developmental observation, identified needs for support are discussed and advised with the parents.

Since the daycare center is located directly next to the forest, forest education is an obvious choice.

The forest is regularly included in the educational work of the individual groups. In addition, we offer group-wide nature experience days during the current calendar year.

By arrangement, the children can use the common function rooms and visit other groups.

Once a week, we conduct a joint morning circle and meet in the hall for a joint rolling breakfast.

Depending on the time available in the gymnasium, we offer group-wide gymnastics days according to the participation principle.

Employee

Each crèche and kindergarten group is supervised by fixed reference teachers. Substitute times due to vacation, training, or illness are covered by our in-house substitutes.

The housekeeping staff is responsible for the housekeeping activities in the KiTa.

A constructively working team and a loyal, harmonious cooperation are the basic prerequisites for successful pedagogical work, from which children and parents benefit.

Qualification

All employees regularly take part in internal and external training events. The entire team currently has three study days a year for internal training and continuing education.

This ensures continuous quality development and assurance.

The KiTa has a training function. From time to time, interns and trainees from various schools are in our KiTa as part of their professional training. Our pedagogical staff, who have additional training as mentors, accompany the trainees in practice.

Additional Offerings

In order to support the educational work in the daycare centers, the city of Burgdorf provides annual project funds. We use these funds for the musical area. Songwriter Mathias Lück conducts early musical education with all groups, crèche and kindergarten.
