Introduction/specifics

Open concept

We work in an open concept, but with reference teachers and core groups.

Above all, the opportunities for the children to have a say and make decisions are important aspects of our open work.

The children can move freely throughout the building, become active themselves and shape their daily lives. They can pursue their own individual interests and preferences. For example, if the children want to romp or relax, both are possible. In addition, a variety of guided activities are available to them.

Quality Assurance

Cooperation and participation of children

(§ 45 SGB VIII)

We have made it our task to actually grant children the right to participation they are entitled to in practice.

In essence, it is about continuously giving children the opportunity to shape situations in discovery-based learning themselves, to find learning paths themselves and also to allow "detours".

The children are actively involved as contributors of ideas and complaints. They should experience in everyday life that they are taken seriously and noticed when they are dissatisfied, also through forms of expression such as crying, withdrawing, aggressiveness. Every person, whether child or adult, is involved in the development of our concept.

Practical implementation:

Joint establishment of children's house rules with the children. The following applies: "As many rules as necessary, as much freedom as possible! - If necessary, striking representation.

The freedom of everyone has as its logical limits the freedom of others.

Alphonse Karr (1808 - 1890), French writer

Specifics

Small group organization

Each teacher has one fixed "small group day" per week.

Up to 12 children take part in a small group.

What is the composition of the small group?

As a rule, there are no fixed small groups, but the children are constantly mixed together. The group affiliation does not play a role.

Each small group is entered in a list.

This list provides information about

    which offer,
    by which teacher,
    on which day,
    with which children.

It also ensures that each child can participate in the activities at regular intervals.

Also, special features of the children that the respective educator has noticed during an offer are recorded there.

This list can only be viewed by the educators and the management.

The small group work is reflected upon by the team. The results of this reflection are incorporated into the pedagogical planning.

Confidential information about the individual child is only shared with the parents of the child in question.

With each guided activity, and especially in free play, we pursue certain goals.
