Introduction/specifics

St. Marien Kita is a warm and welcoming place where children feel safe, valued, and supported as individuals. In our two mixed-age groups, we provide a wide range of opportunities for play, learning, creativity, and movement, both indoors and on our spacious outdoor playground.

As part of the Christus König Familienzentrum, we work closely with our parish community, our partner Kita Sonnenburg, and many local organizations. Together, we create a strong and caring community where Christian values, high-quality early childhood education, and a family-oriented approach help children grow, explore, and thrive.

Rooms

Each group has its own main room and adjoining room. The learning environment is designed around the children's interests and needs, offering a variety of play and learning areas, such as construction, creative arts, and role-play.

In addition, children have access to a quiet room, a kitchen, a washroom, and a gymnasium. These spaces provide opportunities for relaxation, independence, and physical activity, creating an environment where children feel comfortable, explore, learn, and grow.

Outdoor Facilities

There is a large outdoor play area with mature trees, which was enhanced with new play equipment in 2026.

It offers children many opportunities to move freely, explore nature, and enjoy active play together. Whether climbing, running, balancing, playing in the sand, exploring, observing plants and animals, or using natural materials creatively, children gain valuable experiences, develop their motor skills, and learn through all their senses while building friendships and a sense of community.

Daily Schedule

A consistent daily routine provides children with a sense of security, belonging, and stability. At the same time, we offer plenty of opportunities for children to make choices, follow their own interests, and take an active role in their day. Free play is an especially important part of our routine, allowing children to explore their strengths, develop ideas, build friendships, and gain valuable learning experiences through play.

Throughout the day, children enjoy access to the various learning and play areas within our centre, take part in group activities, and spend plenty of time being active both indoors and in our spacious outdoor environment. Meals and rest periods are integrated into the daily schedule, creating a healthy balance between activity and relaxation.

In this way, we provide a nurturing environment that supports each child's individual needs and offers opportunities to explore, learn, grow, and thrive.

Food

In a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, children enjoy a warm lunch each day. The meals are freshly delivered by an external catering provider and offer a varied and balanced selection. Children bring their own breakfast from home, giving them the opportunity to start the day with familiar foods they enjoy.

Description and Stations

Located in the heart of Gemen, right next to Cordula Primary School and just a short walk from Jugendburg Gemen, our daycare centre is easy for families to access. A large parking area and convenient transport connections make drop-off and pick-up simple and comfortable.

Our team consists of qualified early childhood professionals with a wide range of experience, skills, and strengths. Close and trusting collaboration is at the heart of our daily work. Through regular professional exchange, mutual respect, and shared reflection, we continuously develop our educational practice and provide children with individual and holistic support.

Regular training and professional development help us stay up to date with current educational approaches. As a training centre, we also support students and trainees on their path into the profession, bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives to our team.
