Introduction

A municipal daycare center is a place of encounter where you will meet competent professionals who are happy to support you with your child's development and answer any questions you may have. Your child's education is at the heart of daily life. Through engaging projects and targeted activities, your child can develop their full potential. Observing and documenting their development forms the basis for further support and ongoing discussions with you. The joy of movement and music are as much a part of everyday life as introducing children to healthy eating and lifestyle choices. Daily Schedule

In municipal daycare centers, each child has "their" group and "their" caregivers. From there, they explore the rooms, learn about daily life at the daycare, and get to know other children and staff. Rituals and routines that take place at the same time every day provide structure to the day and give the children security and orientation.

Food

Breakfast is usually brought from home and eaten sometime during the morning. Every two weeks, as part of an early childhood health promotion project, a healthy breakfast is prepared together with the children. Lunch is varied and tailored to children. The individual components of lunch are frozen and sourced from a company specializing in children's nutritional needs. Salads are freshly prepared, as are desserts and raw vegetables. In the afternoon, the children are offered a small snack.

Our work is guided by the shared mission statement and concept for the city's daycare centers. Our actions are informed by current professional knowledge and established traditions. Our top priority is that every child feels comfortable and enjoys going to daycare. Relationships and education, as well as care and security, are the cornerstones of our educational work. With attentiveness and creativity, we open windows to the world for children, awakening their joy of learning and their willingness to achieve. Quality Assurance

In 2003, in cooperation with all municipal daycare centers, standards were introduced based on the quality management concept "Integrated Quality and Staff Development (IQUE)." These standards are continuously being developed and expanded. A binding concept comprising 13 educational areas was created, which all municipal daycare centers use as a guideline. Further information about the educational areas and their content can be found online in the brochure "Education in Everyday Daycare Life - 13 Educational Areas -" under Bildungsbereiche (bielefeld.de). This brochure is also available at every municipal daycare center.
