Introduction

Who doesn't know the infamous “Wilde 13” - the dreaded pirate ship with the twelve wild men and their captain? Michael Ende wrote the stories "Jim Knopf and Lukas the Engine Driver" and "Jim Knopf and the Wild 13", which gave the daycare center its name.
In 1982 committed parents of ten children got together and founded the association “Parents' Initiative for Children's Groups Wilde 13 e. V. "The parents saw their task in running a day-care center, which means that they knew that their children were well housed and that they had the opportunity to get involved in day-to-day daycare.
In 1995 the facility was expanded to include a second group with an apartment that became vacant.
On August 1st, 2009, the parents' initiative handed over the sponsorship to the Society for Social Work (GfS) e.V.
The "Wilde 13" daycare center offers 44 places in two groups (Emma / Molly).

Outdoor Facilities

Our facility has a beautiful, child-friendly outdoor area. This area will continue to be expanded with elements for playing, romping, hiding and building.
We have a large sandpit, tunnel, nest swing and various play materials.
Right next to our outdoor area is a beautiful park area with a wonderful playground that can be used if necessary.

Rooms

The "Wilde 13" daycare center offers 45 places in two groups (Emma / Molly).
In the respective groups there is a large group room with some side rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen area. Our movement space is used alternately by the groups.

We also have our "children's workshop". This is used for child-friendly craft activities and for our small and large artists for creative design.
In the entrance area there are both cloakrooms for the Emma and Molly group. All the latest information about day-to-day day-to-day day-care life is posted on a large pin board.

Daily Schedule

From 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., the children are looked after in the Emma group. Then the Molly children go to your group.

• The children come to our facility by 9:00 am
• Both groups have breakfast together from 9:00 am to 9:30 am
• From 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, offers, free games, cross-group encounters, excursions take place
• Lunch is shared in both groups from 12:00 to 12:30
• After lunch there is brushing your teeth and go in the rest / sleep times
• from 2:00 pm free play / offers
• from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm there is a small afternoon snack
• Then the day ends with free play inside or outside

Food

Lunch is delivered to our facility daily by EMILIO from Bielefeld.
EMILIO cooks vegetarian and with balanced organic products. There is also vegetables with every lunch.

We get milk, yoghurt and fruit from the Wilhelmsdorf organic farm in Bielefeld - Eckhardsheim.

Basics

Our work is based on the situation-oriented approach. The aim is good cooperation with the parents, which is characterized by openness, trust and transparency. With our work we convey humanistic values ​​and rules. As a self-learner, the child experiences interesting offers, good equipment and social support in our daycare center. Our facility is interculturally open.

Further goals of our work:

The children should feel comfortable and valued in order to exhaust their self-education potential and thus face the world with confidence and empowerment. The "Wilde 13" achieves this by:

Team
The committed team consists of eight pedagogical employees including the facility management, who are supplemented by a caretaker and a housekeeper and cleaner.

In addition, interns accompany the team through the year. A reading godmother also comes to the facility once a week.

Every year the surrounding schools and the laboratory school contact us to discuss processes.
The Froebel School also offers a trial lesson for school children, which are accompanied by two educator.

Teamwork with parents

Our day-care center is a family supplement facility. In order to be able to do justice to this educational mission, the trusting and intensive cooperation between parents and educators is an indispensable prerequisite.

On the legal basis of the Child Education Act (Kibiz) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, cooperation with parents is seen in the joint promotion of children. This includes the regular exchange of information on the state of the child's educational and developmental process.
