Basics
OUR EDUCATIONAL WORK
Our educational work is shaped by the educational mission of North Rhine-Westphalia (KiBiz). In our concept, we have set the goals for the various educational areas in writing, which you can view from us. If necessary, you can of course discuss this with us. We work according to Armin Krenz's situation-oriented approach. The situation-oriented approach is based on individual experiences and experiences that the children express through play, language, movement, etc. These experiences are processed and classified emotionally - this happens through projects initiated by the children. Our focus is on early musical education and religious education. Projects on the topic of nutrition and exercise take place regularly. Our cooperation partners regularly accompany the children in our premises.
OUR EDUCATIONAL PROFILE
Our educational work is based on the quality manual of the Protestant daycare centers in Bielefeld. In addition, we have an additional concept in which the focal points of our work are defined in detail. The quality manual and concept are available to anyone interested here at any time.
EVANGELICAL PROFILE
We are a Protestant institution with a Christian view of humanity. We warmly welcome children and parents of other religious and/or secular orientations and see them as an enrichment. In our facility you have the opportunity to encounter the Christian faith.
PARTIALLY OPEN GROUP CONCEPT
In group forms III and I on the upper floor, each child has their own regular group. The children's educational time begins at 9 a.m. with a morning circle. Afterwards we have breakfast together. This is followed by a free play phase, cross-group offers or projects with our cooperation partners. Lunch in the core groups begins at around 11:45 a.m. After a comfortable rest period or open play time, the pick-up phase begins. The afternoon is also organized across groups.
UNDER THREE YEARS OLD
For children aged one to three, we offer 10 places with 35 hours per week and 10 places with 45 hours per week in two groups on the ground floor. There are also six U3 places on the upper floor in a mixed-age group. Each group is supervised and accompanied by three educational professionals.
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL SUPPORT NEEDS, E.G. WITH A PHYSICAL, MENTAL OR PERCEPTUAL IMPAIRMENT
Every child is unique and has their own system in which they live and from which they bring their experiences. If children have special needs, we work closely with various institutions who can also come to our house upon arrangement. There is regular communication with parents and institutions to ensure that the children are well supported. Additional specialists accompany the children in everyday daycare.
SUPPORTING PROSPECTIVE SCHOOL CHILDREN
In the last year before starting school, we once again focused on supporting future school children through special projects in the areas of music, literature, natural sciences and art. We visit institutions such as the fire department, the art gallery, the police and the library.
COOPERATION WITH PARENTS
For us, a welcoming attitude towards parents is an important basis for good, trusting and cooperative cooperation. Parents receive brief feedback about the day through daily door-to-door conversations. If desired, parents also have the opportunity to sit in on our facility in order to experience day-to-day daycare together. We exchange observations on the children’s development in annual development meetings. In addition, parents have the opportunity to arrange an appointment for an individual consultation. The parents' council and the daycare management exchange ideas several times a year, for example about events, projects and other daycare-relevant content. The parents actively participate in events and projects.
LANGUAGE PROMOTION
Language support takes place every day. Language support integrated into everyday life is based on the children's individual interests and resources and is integrated into everyday routine. The specialists address a variety of situations and provide a language-stimulating environment. We have been a plusKita since summer 2020, funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. A special focus is placed explicitly on individual language education and support. The tasks also include strengthening parental work and involvement in existing network structures. A qualified language specialist accompanies the children in small groups. In addition, a reading sponsor comes to us once a week.
