The spacious property offers the children:
In the building, which was built in 1973, there is, for the children, in addition to the rooms belonging to their group, a large movement room, a big hall as a meeting point, a workshop room, a big sleep room for the under-3 children, rooms for special activities, a room for conversations, two kitchens, and the management office.
Children experience everyday life anew every day, gain experiences, discover themselves, their surroundings, nature, and the community. We accompany the child throughout the day, adjusting our involvement depending on the situation, provide suggestions, and create the foundation for their own play ideas.
The children should experience the world and everyday life with all their senses while with us.
A structured daily routine gives the children security and orientation. The daily schedule in the groups varies and is adapted to the needs of the group members. There are common points that can be found in all groups:
Free play time: The children follow their own interests and needs, form playgroups, and interact with others.
Breakfast takes place as a flexible breakfast until 9:30 a.m. The children bring a buttered bread, fruit, yogurt, or muesli with them. The activity time, the outdoor time: We offer targeted educational activities and projects both indoors and outdoors. We are outside on our large grounds every day, where the children get basic experiences with sand, mud, grass, water, hills, and much more. On our hilly grounds, movement is encouraged, and the children gain important physical and spatial experiences.
Lunchtime: The children eat lunch together in their groups and then go into a relaxation phase, take a nap, or are picked up.
Afternoon time: It starts with a small snack, then the children can play freely and be picked up gradually.
Lunch:
In the U3 groups, lunch is eaten from 11:30 a.m. until around 12:00 p.m.
In the Ü3 groups, lunch is eaten from 12:00 p.m. until around 12:30 p.m. We get the food frozen from the company Apetito. The meals are heated up by our housekeeping staff and complemented with components of fresh fruit, vegetable pieces, or salads.
Our foundation is the 'situational approach,' which means that depending on the situation, children experience something new or reinforce what they have already learned. Our goals are for children to experience everyday life through play, explore their environment and nature in a playful way, learn by doing, and become independent both playfully and calmly. We create play spaces that offer trust and security, supporting holistic development. Children should experience the world with all their senses. We observe children in their activities and use that to develop goals for educational work and individual approaches. This way, children can grow up with us in a social and joyful community. Additionally, as a Protestant institution, we want to make Christian values and ways of life tangible to children through celebrating Christian festivals and shaping everyday life.
We are a big team of around 20 qualified full- and part-time staff (educators, child carers, a motopedist, an inclusion specialist, trainee educators, and a housekeeper), who support, guide, and help the children with great commitment and educational expertise.
Inclusion
To provide support in special situations, we work with the Bethel counseling center and other counseling centers and institutions. There is also close cooperation with the other three day-care centers of the Zion congregation.
There are regular meetings with the principal and some teachers of Martinschule. These meetings are for exchanging ideas and joint training.
The children who will be going to Martinschule attend a class once before the summer holidays.
We work closely with you as parents…
A wide variety of projects and activities take place throughout the year. Here is a small selection: Seasonal celebrations for children: Harvest Festival, Lantern Festival, St. Nicholas Day, Christmas, Easter, Summer Party, and birthdays Cross-group projects: singing together for celebrations, cake baking, gymnastics groups, and religious education activities Year-round preparation for school-age children to ensure a successful transition from daycare to primary school
