Rooms

The Mariä Himmelfahrt day nursery in Bad Neustadt is located in the heart of the town - right in the town center - in the parish hall of the parish of the same name. The facility offers lovingly designed rooms that are optimally tailored to the needs of the children.

A wide range of rooms are at the heart of everyday educational activities: there is a homework room that creates a quiet atmosphere for concentrated work. For free play and creative development, the children have access to a role-play room, a construction room, a workroom and a creative room. Each of these rooms is assigned to a specific area of experience and invites children to discover, try things out and play together.

A special highlight is the gymnastics room - a former vaulted cellar with a charm all of its own. It offers plenty of space to run around, move and play all kinds of games.

There is a spacious foyer, which is also used as a dining room, and a kitchen for cozy moments and get-togethers. Of course, the after-school care center also has separate sanitary facilities.

Outdoor Facilities

The after-school care center also offers many opportunities for outdoor development: the inner courtyard of the parish hall is regularly used for outdoor activities. When the weather is nice, the children also visit the nearby playground below the parish church almost every day, which offers plenty of space for exercise, play and experiencing nature.

Daily Schedule

The day has a regular schedule that provides a fixed framework for the team and the children.

From 11.00 a.m.

The after-school care center opens its doors, the educational staff prepares the daily routine and activities.

From 11.30-13.45 Lunch

Children who are registered for hot lunch prepare their own food. Cold eaters get their food from the book bag. There is time for conversation during the meal.

From 12.15 - 15.30 Homework time (Monday - Thursday)

Homework time depends on the children's timetable. The duration of homework time depends on your child's year group. It is between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours.

However, if children are sitting for longer, this will be noted in the homework booklet as information for the teachers.

From 13.00 - 17.00 Free play time

After homework, free play time begins for the children. The children are free to choose what they do during this time or which activities they take part in.

Every Friday is our homework-free day. This is where our AGs and activities/excursions take place.

In order for the children to be well integrated and for us to be able to provide qualified educational work, the children should come to the after-school care center regularly, i.e. at least three times a week, of which at least four times long enough for them to have enough time to play (until approx. 3.30 pm).

Food

The hot lunch is delivered freshly prepared daily by Stiftungs- Alten und Pflegeheim gGmbH. The cost of lunch is €3.50 per day. Participation in the hot lunch is not compulsory. The request is made via the Kikom app.

Holiday Care

The after-school care center also offers vacation care for children. During the vacations, the after-school care center is open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. During the summer vacations, the after-school care center is open from 7.30 am to 3.00 pm.

A needs survey is carried out to determine the required times before the vacations.

During the vacations, the after-school care staff offer various projects and activities.

The children also have ideas for vacation activities. If possible, these are also implemented. Before and after the holidays, your child can use the play facilities in the after-school care center.

The vacation schedule is announced by the staff in the Kikom app before the vacations.

Homework Support

Homework time is a part of our educational work that takes up a lot of time. The homework situation differs from the situation at home.
The homework room is occupied by 10-20 children at a time with one or two teachers.
The respective specialist ensures the necessary peace and quiet so that the children can work undisturbed. They provide assistance where necessary. If the help provided by the specialist is not sufficient, additional educational staff are available.
The children learn to complete their written homework independently (within their own framework), carefully and on their own responsibility.
Special homework, e.g. learning a poem, practicing reading, learning words or learning for a test, can only be practiced/learned at home.

Homework is checked and improved together with the child. Even if we check the homework, it is the parents' responsibility to have an overview of their child's performance. By looking at the homework, parents gain an insight into their child's development and learning progress.
Parents are informed by the staff if the homework has only been completed with a great deal of help. If necessary, we also inform the teachers about the homework situation in the after-school care center. An alarm clock is set, which the children use as a guide.

1st grade: 30 min homework time
2nd grade: 1 h homework time
3rd grade: 1.5 h homework time
4th grade: 1.5 h homework time

The children start their homework after lunch and a short break for exercise. Once they have completed their homework, they are free to spend their free time and take part in the activities prepared by the teachers.

Overview

Enrollment at the Mariä Himmelfahrt After-School Center – Important Information for Parents

The Mariä Himmelfahrt after-school center only accepts children who attend the Karl-Ludwig-von-Guttenberg Primary School. Regular care during the school year is therefore only available to students of this school.

However, children who attend other schools are welcome to register for holiday care. This offers a flexible solution for families who need reliable childcare during school breaks.

If you have any questions or would like to register for holiday care, the after-school team will be happy to help.
