Introduction/specifics

The Waldrems kindergarten is located in the centre of the district of the same name, south of Backnang, right next to the B14 road, with good transport links to Stuttgart. The paths leading into nature, with fields, meadows and forests, begin just behind the outdoor area of the facility and offer a wide range of opportunities for nature experiences.

The facility extends over three floors and has space for two groups. In addition to two group rooms, there is a movement room, a workshop and construction room, a bistro, a construction room that can be used as a retreat area, as well as two kitchens and two washrooms. From the ground floor, you can access the spacious and well-designed outdoor play area with benches and tables, a climbing structure, a slide, bars, a bird’s nest swing, playhouses, a sandpit, a sand and water play area, and a hammock.

Basics

The educational work of the kindergarten is based on the orientation plan and includes the six areas of education and development: body, senses, language, thinking, feelings and values. In addition, we focus on language development and singing in our educational work. Children learn holistically and through understanding. They don’t just want to look at things or talk about them. They want to touch them, taste them, feel them, smell them and experiment with them. All of this is possible and encouraged in the kindergarten.

We see the child as an actor and master of its own development and it builds its own world view from the very beginning of its life. It is a researcher and explorer and explores the world on its own. It learns through trial and error and is not discouraged if something doesn’t work out right away. Play is work, and what play is, is always being redefined. Children process their impressions, develop skills and abilities, show initiative, concentrate and cooperate with others. Every child is unique! It has the right to be accepted as it is. Children already have all the skills to discover the world and develop themselves! They have the right to make their own experiences.

An open cooperation between the parents and the kindergarten for the benefit of the children is very important to us. This includes a trusting and understanding exchange of ideas about education, mutual acceptance, appreciation and a harmonious atmosphere as equal partners in education. Through regular talks with the parents, we can better understand the different life and family situations of each child and support each other.
