Introduction/specifics

Our Catholic day nursery ‘St. Johannes’ is located in the southern part of the town of Backnang, in a well-established residential area.
There are both new residential buildings and older houses here. The children have several playgrounds with trees in traffic-calmed zones at their disposal. The ‘Schillerschool’ primary school, special needs school, Waldorf school, secondary school and grammar school, as well as the vocational school centre and various sports facilities are located nearby.
Our facility consists of two extended-hours groups (VÖ) and one full-day group (GT). Our two VÖ groups are open from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The full-day group is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays. We care for 22 children aged two to six years in the mixed-age VÖ group and 25 children aged three to six years in the other VÖ group. There are 20 children aged three to six years in the full-day group.
The VÖ groups each have a large group room divided into different areas. There is also a small side room and a room for movement games.
The full-day group has an additional creative room and a large room for various play areas in addition to the group room. The full-day area and the VÖ (pre-school) area are separated from each other and are on two different levels. Each group has access to an outdoor play area with a slide, sandbox and playhouse. In addition, there is another garden with a lawn and old trees.

The partnership with parents in education is very important to us.
We cooperate on an equal footing, exchange ideas for the benefit of the child, appreciate each other and share the joint responsibility.
