Introduction/specifics
The municipal day nursery (kita) is located near the centre, next to the Ekertsklinge. In addition to two group rooms with adjoining rooms, two kitchens and a washroom, the children at the kita have access to an art studio. A special feature of the kita is the ‘library,’ which is open to all children. It invites them to independently or together with a member of staff to select and look at books. This helps to foster a love of books and stories, as well as language development, vocabulary and the ability to listen and tell stories.
The spacious garden is an important additional educational and learning space. It is divided into different areas and offers children a variety of opportunities for movement, free play, social interaction and independent action. The natural environment and the different play areas appeal to and support various areas of children’s development. The children have access to a variety of climbing and gymnastic equipment, a sandpit and a slide.
