Introduction/specifics

The municipal day-care centre (Kita) Im Biegel is centrally located in the city centre and is integrated into a multi-family residential building. Due to its central location, the centre is easily accessible by public transport. It is located on the ground floor and has barrier-free access via the courtyard. Below the building is the Biegel car park, where you can park for free for 15 minutes when dropping off or picking up your child.
The premises include three group rooms, each with an adjoining room. There is also a movement room, a washroom, a kitchen and two rooms for language support. The building is adjacent to a garden, which offers children a variety of opportunities for movement, play and retreat. The facilities include two sandboxes, balancing tree trunks, a play ship with a hideaway, two climbing bars and a garden house.
 

Basics

The educational work of the day-care centre is based on the orientation plan for education and upbringing. The various areas of development form the basis of the educational work. At Biegel, the focus of the educational work is on language. We are a language-focused day-care centre within the framework of the state funding programme ‘Because language is the key to the world’. The main focus of this programme lies in the three areas of action of language education integrated into everyday life, inclusive pedagogy and cooperation with families. These areas are essential components of the educational work and support a holistic approach to the children.

We see the child as an active shaper of its own development. Our task is to create an environment in which children can independently and with curiosity acquire knowledge of the world, using their inquisitive and exploratory spirit and their willingness to experiment. We accept and support them in their strengths and abilities. We support, encourage and accompany children on their way to becoming independent, autonomous and socially competent. We support the child’s desire to explore by adopting a questioning attitude and by seeing the world through the eyes of a child. The aim is to enable every child to have the same educational opportunities and to participate in social life. Every child is regarded as an individual, with all its abilities, resources and needs.

Parents are all different and that means that we are constantly looking for ways to involve parents. To strengthen the educational partnership, there are various parent-child festivals at the kindergarten. Furthermore, we value respectful exchange and cooperation.
