Introduction/specifics

The municipal day nursery (Kita) Heininger Weg is located in a residential area in the southern district of Backnang. The facility has space for five groups, one of which is located in the neighbouring Protestant community centre. In addition, the facility also has an external group of the school nursery of the Bodelschwinghschule in Murrhardt.
The groups in the main building each have their own group room and an individually designed side room. There is a separate sleeping and rest room for the children in the all-day care programme. Breakfast, lunch and the afternoon snack for the children in the all-day care programme are prepared in the kitchen. In addition, baking and cooking are done together with the children as part of the educational programme. The bistro serves as a communal dining area for the children in the all-day care programme and provides them with a fixed framework for meals during the day.
The spacious garden offers a variety of play and exercise opportunities, including a climbing frame, a sandpit, swings, a slide and a selection of children’s vehicles. The crèche group has its own garden area with a sandpit and vehicles. The group in the community centre has access to two group rooms, a kitchen and a washroom, as well as a spacious garden.

Basics

The educational work of the day-care centre is based on the orientation plan for education and upbringing.
As a language-focused day-care centre within the framework of the state funding programme ‘Because language is the key to the world,’ language education is a special focus of our daily activities. The programme’s main areas of focus are the integration of language education into everyday life, inclusive pedagogy and cooperation with families. To this end, we have a language specialist and a language support worker who are responsible for the daily language education and the targeted language support of individual children, as well as weekly SBS (Sing, Speak, Sing) sessions for all children led by a specifically trained music educator.
We also place great emphasis on physical activity, which is addressed through various activities and offers in the daily educational programme. The children are given a wide range of opportunities to test their physical abilities, gain their own experiences and further develop their skills. Through the stimulating design of the rooms, the use of a variety of materials and the implementation of projects, the children are encouraged to actively engage with themselves, other children and their environment.

The image of the child is based on the idea that children are the actors in their own development. They independently and actively adapt to their environment and shape their learning processes. The educational staff have the task of supporting, accompanying and challenging the children in a resource-oriented way. The individual interests and needs of each child are always at the centre of attention. The age, stage of development, individual strengths and abilities, and the child’s particular life situation are taken into account. This ensures that each child is recognised as an individual and is appropriately supported in their personal development.

A partnership between parents and the facility, which is based on the well-being of the child, is a fundamental requirement for a carefree time in kindergarten. It is based on a relationship of appreciation, respect and trust between parents and educational staff in the education, upbringing and care of the children. The educational staff are committed to understanding the social environment and the social context of the families and, with sensitivity and empathy, to developing an understanding of the needs of the children and their families that arise from this.
