Introduction/specifics

Dear parents,

We would like to welcome you and your child to our day care center. We are delighted that you are interested in our "Kunterbunt" day care center.

There are many different reasons why parents or single parents make use of or perhaps even have to make use of a childminder.

We are aware that you, dear parents, are entrusting us with your greatest treasure. Close cooperation with you is therefore particularly important to us in order to enable your child to develop in the best possible way, to strengthen their identity and individuality and to meet them with patience and empathy.

Our top priority is that your little one feels comfortable and safe. You, dear parents, can entrust your little one to us with peace of mind and a clear conscience.

The special thing about our concept is the family atmosphere. Another special feature is the highly personal relationship between the daycare child and the caregiver. In addition, two forms of care are combined. It offers parents, on the one hand, the family-oriented structures of child day care and, at the same time, the transparency and professionalism of an institutional facility.

Our concept is the foundation of our work. The children are the house! They are allowed to grow, develop freely and become their own personalities. We, together with you, are the roof. We protect your child and give them warmth and security.

Another special feature of child day care is that you, dear parents, have the opportunity to apply for funding from the youth welfare office, which subsidizes the costs of child day care. Depending on the number of children under the age of 18 living in the family, your own contribution will be between €2.60 and €0.50 per hour.

Daily Schedule

In order to provide the children with a framework that gives them structure, safety and security, it is important to us to have a fixed daily routine with integrated rituals.

Food

Seasonal, regional, healthy and delicious.

We prepare a fresh and balanced breakfast and lunch for the children every day. Our diet consists of fresh fruit and vegetables, cereals and oatmeal, cheese, sausage and meat.

(If you would like your child to have sausage and meat, please let us know).

A healthy snack and unsweetened drinks are also available to the children every day.

We want the children to have fun and enjoy learning about a healthy and balanced diet.

We also attach great importance to shared meals, as this strengthens group cohesion.

Basics

Gentle acclimatization and stable relationship building form the basis of our educational work.

The child's independence is consciously recognized from the very beginning. We give them the space they need to move and develop freely and at their own pace.

Free play is the most important form of learning for the children. They explore things on their own initiative. Children learn from children. In this way, the children develop I - COMPETENCES, SOCIAL - COMPETENCES as well as SPECIAL COMPETENCES.

Physical development, in turn, is the basis for good cognitive and social-emotional development. Free play therefore not only promotes motor skills, but also the child's self-confidence and well-being.

Playing is learning!

We only want to be an accompanying and motivating partner for the child. Successful experiences are unforgettable and promote self-confidence. An understanding, guided child will actively occupy itself.

We therefore work according to the Pikler pedagogy approach, but also like to use materials from the Montessori pedagogy.

Employee

My name is Sandra Schmid. I am a mother myself and live with my husband and our three children in Altshausen. In September 2014, I completed my qualification as a certified childminder. First and foremost, my motivation for becoming a childminder was the joy of working with children. I worked for many years in a large daycare center and gained a lot of professional experience there. Now I can fulfill a long-held wish of mine and set up and run a large day care center myself. I am looking forward to new tasks and challenges as the manager of the “Kunterbunt” day care center, to a great time with your children and to a good cooperation with you as parents.

Quality Assurance

We undergo continuous further training, such as lectures, seminars and practical courses, for a minimum of 20 teaching units (TU) per year.

We are checked for our suitability and are regularly visited by the specialist advisory service for child day care.

A basic qualification of 160 - 300 teaching units is a basic requirement for working as a childminder.

Our care license is re-examined every 5 years. We are required to complete 20 units with content on child welfare and child protection, first aid for children, as well as a medical clearance certificate and an extended certificate of good conduct.

Every childminder must also sign a protection agreement with the responsible youth welfare office before starting work, in which the childminder guarantees to always act in the best interests of the children.

Cooperations

We childminders in a large daycare center never work alone, but at least in pairs. In addition, we are in constant contact with the day care placement office responsible for us, the youth welfare office, as well as with the municipality of Altshausen, other local day cares or other childminders.

In working groups in the form of regional meetings, we can help and support each other with our practical and professional skills.

We also attach great importance to good and intensive work with parents and maintain this in regular door-to-door discussions.
