The "Holzhaus" daycare center has been part of the DRK Altenburger Land District Association since October 1, 1994, and is located at Kreuzstraße 15. For our very young children up to 3 years old, we have had a separate daycare building right next door in a quiet location since 2009.

Our facility can care for children from 3 months of age up to school age.

In the immediate vicinity of our "Holzhaus" are the following facilities, which we gladly use in our daily educational activities:

The large pond with the island zoo
The city forest
Public playgrounds
Parks
Indoor and outdoor swimming pools
The city center (Bambini, Mauritianum, cinema, library, etc.)

The living and working basis of our facility is determined by the situational approach.

This includes:

Children should acquire autonomy, solidarity, and competence to cope with life situations.
Learning topics are based on the children's real lives.
The educator supports the children in understanding their world and shaping it independently and responsibly.

Involving the children in planning processes to strengthen their independence and self-confidence.

Your child will receive full board consisting of a nutritious, varied, and healthy breakfast, lunch, and snack. We take special dietary requirements into account (e.g., food intolerances, religious dietary restrictions, or vegetarian diets).

Billing is based on the child's individual attendance and not on a meal plan.
