Introduction/specifics

The Spatzennest - a special place for children
Our Spatzennest kindergarten is located in the heart of Allershausen, quietly situated between Glonn and Mühlbach, surrounded by meadows, fields and the fairground - a place to feel good, play and grow up.
Since 1992, we have been accompanying children from the age of 3 until they start school on an important part of their journey through life. From September 2024, we will be a house with four lively groups and a dedicated team of professionals.
In addition to the friendly group rooms, the Spatzennest also offers additional functional rooms for small group activities, rest, creativity and exercise.
A real highlight is our spacious garden area, which the children can discover, experience and play in (almost) any weather - pure nature right on the doorstep.
A place with heart, space for development - and lots of children's laughter.

Rooms

For over 30 years, the Spatzennest has stood for reliable education and care work in a child-friendly, learning-stimulating environment in which play and fun complement each other.

The Sparrow's Nest - Where curiosity flies, friendship grows and laughter lives.

At our inclusive daycare center, children discover the world through play, develop their strengths, and experience together how diversity inspires and connects. Each of our group rooms has its own character and is individually designed, with special focuses tailored to the needs and interests of the children. Three rooms with play galleries are particularly popular and serve as familiar places for the children to retreat to and experience within their regular groups. The children can play in the security of their group and at the same time have the freedom to visit the groups in the building on a daily basis.

Meals together - enjoy together

Lunch is eaten together with the children in a quiet, informal atmosphere in the group rooms or in the kitchen. The focus is not only on healthy eating, but also on social interaction and experiencing table culture.

ntensive rooms - individual support on a small scale

Each group has its own intensive room, which is used specifically for work in small groups. Among other things, scientific experiments, language support measures such as the German pre-course and special activities for our pre-school children take place here. These rooms enable concentrated learning and individual support in a protected environment.

Movement is the engine of development and learning - our movement room

Regular movement is an integral part of our everyday educational routine. In the movement room, the children can live out their natural urge to move - be it in running games, on the movement construction site or in psychomotor-supported units. As an additional offer, early musical development for pre-school children takes place here - conducted by a qualified teacher from the Ampertal music school. There is also the option of registering children for a weekly dance program offered by an external provider.

Garden design 2027 - Join in. Help shape it. Experience it.

Exercise in the fresh air is an integral part of our everyday life. Our spacious garden offers numerous opportunities for this - and thanks to weather-appropriate clothing, we are out and about in (almost) any weather. In 2026, our garden area will be redesigned as part of a joint project together with the municipality as the responsible body, parents, employees and children - with a wide range of opportunities for active participation.

Outdoor Facilities

Our garden - space to romp, discover & breathe
Our spacious and naturally designed garden area is a real paradise for children. Not only is there plenty of space to run, climb and play, but also lots of corners to discover, try out and relax in.
Under the shade of large trees, highlights such as an adventure castle with a slide, various swings, climbing equipment, a soccer pitch, seesaw animals, a ground trampoline, gymnastic poles, a seesaw, sandpits and a large mud area with a water pump await our little adventurers.
Two wooden train sets, a sand playhouse, a large terrace with seating and a well-equipped vehicle shed with a modern fleet of vehicles provide even more fun.
Young gardeners also get their money's worth: a herb spiral, a vegetable patch and berry bushes invite you to tend, snack and marvel.
Our garden is not just a playground - it is a lively place of learning, exercise and retreat at the same time.

Food

Eating together at Spatzennest – fresh, regional, and with love
At Spatzennest, lunch is more than just a meal – it is a moment of togetherness, enjoyment, and refreshment.
We offer full board for all children during childcare hours: a varied breakfast, a freshly prepared lunch, and a small afternoon snack. Drinks are available to the children throughout the day.
Our meals are prepared fresh every day in the kitchen of the Amperspatzen children's home – balanced, child-friendly and lovingly prepared. Vegetables, dairy and grain products are sourced from regional farms, as are meat and fish products. Most of the food is certified organic, and seasonal fruit and vegetables feature prominently in our menu. We do not serve pre-packaged products – everything is freshly chopped, cooked, and seasoned, from Maultaschen to cheesecake.
The quality and further development of our catering is also very important to us: coaching by the Office for Food, Agriculture, and Forestry (AELF) has been successfully completed, and the former food committee is currently being revived.

unch is charged separately at €5 per meal.
Some children eat in our large communal kitchen, others in the group rooms – sometimes lively and cheerful, sometimes quiet and relaxed, depending on the mood. The staff try a small portion so that children and adults can experience and enjoy the food together.
The children fetch their food trolleys from the kitchen themselves, help themselves from the bowls on the table and help clear up.
During celebrations and special occasions, the kitchen becomes a meeting place: buffets are set up centrally and enjoyed together.
You can find all the details about catering in our catering concept, which we will be happy to provide you with.

Basics

Childhood is a time for adventure

We enjoy conquering the world together - with all our senses.

This is more than just a guiding principle - it is our attitude. At Spatzennest, we accompany children with heart, joy and professional competence on an important part of their life's journey.

Every child is welcome - just as they are

We see every child as a unique personality. With appreciation, empathy and commitment, we create a place where children feel safe and can develop.

We see our task as accompanying them on their journey:
We strengthen, encourage, challenge - and guide with heart and hand, trusting in the development potential of each individual child.

A trusting educational partnership with parents is a matter of course for us. Only by working together can support become a genuine relationship.

Experiencing diversity - inside and out

Since 2021, we have been an inclusive kindergarten where all children - with and without special support needs - can play, learn and grow together.

Diversity is part of our everyday life:

    Shared garden times
 Project work across groups
 Morning and afternoon group meetings
Encounters with people outside the daycare center (e.g. visits to the retirement home, participation in community festivals, excursions in the surrounding area)

This makes our Spatzennest an open place - both internally and externally.

Have a say. Helping to shape it. With heart and soul.

We give the children time - to play, discover, try things out and be happy. In an atmosphere of freedom, trust and co-determination, they are allowed to go their own way, gain experience and grow through challenges.

Mistakes, conflicts and setbacks?
Not a problem - but important steps on the path through life. We help the children to find their own solutions and deal with the small and big adventures of everyday life.

At Spatzennest, children experience life in all its colorfulness - with fun, curiosity and warmth.

Employee

Our pedagogical team - with heart and expertise
The pedagogical staff are the heart of every good daycare center - and this is also the case here at Spatzennest. Under the leadership of Marion Ellenbrock, a dedicated team of qualified professionals lovingly and competently guide the children through their daily routine.
In the regular groups, we ensure reliability, individual support and a trusting atmosphere in which every child can feel comfortable and safe.
Would you like to get to know us personally?
Then come and visit us at our open day - we look forward to seeing you!

Qualification

Qualified. Committed. Always at the cutting edge.
At Spatzennest, we attach great importance to the professional and personal development of our team. Our pedagogical specialists have a wide range of educational backgrounds and qualifications - from nursery nurses and childcare workers to curative education nurses and specialists with additional qualifications in areas such as inclusion or language support.
Learning never stops
In order to meet the growing demands of day-to-day daycare, our employees regularly undergo further training - in individual training courses on current educational topics as well as in joint team training courses, which strengthen our cooperation and provide new impetus.
Getting better together
We see our work as a continuous learning process. That's why we keep our finger on the pulse professionally, question our practice, exchange ideas - and continue to develop as a team.
This is how we create a lively learning environment - for the children and for ourselves.

Additional Offerings

More than just everyday life - our additional offers
At Spatzennest, we want to offer children a wide range of learning and experience opportunities that go beyond everyday life. This is why special additional offers complement our educational concept:
- German pre-course for children with a migration background or language support needs
- Early musical education for all pre-school children - with an external specialist
- KidsPro - playful prevention program to strengthen social skills, organized by the parents' council
- Dancing with the Motionmakers - a voluntary, fee-based exercise program
- First aid course for pre-school children - age-appropriate, practical and fun
- Kindergarten places with additional support for children with special needs (in cooperation with a specialist service)
- Internal children's library for borrowing, browsing and reading aloud
- The parents' council has also obtained an offer for a voluntary English course
This allows the children to discover their talents, strengthen their skills - and try things out, grow and be amazed.

Quality Assurance

This is how we create a lively learning environment - for the children and for ourselves.

Quality you can feel - every day anew
At Kindergarten Spatzennest, quality is no coincidence, but the result of continuous development, open communication and reflective practice. Our educational work is based on high professional standards - but also on the needs of the children and families who are at the center of our attention.

 A team on the move
We are currently experiencing a new start at Spatzennest: many new colleagues have joined our team. We are not yet well-rehearsed in all processes, but we are working with a great deal of commitment, openness and mutual support to grow together and develop stable structures. This process challenges us - and at the same time brings a breath of fresh air and new perspectives to our work.

Our building blocks for quality assurance

Pedagogical quality monitoring (PQB)
We take part in external pedagogical quality monitoring at regular intervals. This helps us to continually question and further develop our attitude, processes and structures in a professional manner.

Management conferences & supervision
Participation in management meetings at regional level and external supervision promote professional exchange, strengthen our management work and help with the further development of the entire team.

Observation & networking
Visits to other facilities allow us to gain new perspectives, compare different pedagogical approaches and bring fresh ideas into our everyday work.

Regular reflection & evaluation
We continuously reflect on projects, celebrations and our everyday life as a team:
What went well? What can we do better? What inspired the children?
These questions accompany our daily work.

“The proof of the pudding is in the eating”
We encourage ourselves and the children to try new things. Quality also comes from experience, a willingness to make mistakes and a readiness to keep learning.

Participation of children & parents

Children's conferences & children's surveys
Children have a voice with us. In children's conferences and discussions, they can contribute their views, help shape decisions and reflect on everyday experiences.

Annual parent survey & open complaints management
Parents are our most important partners. With an annual anonymous survey and an open ear for concerns, we create space for exchange, praise and constructive criticism.

Our attitude: Quality thrives on dialog - with children, parents, colleagues and our environment. We can only be really good if we look, listen and reflect together. It is precisely in this phase of new beginnings that we see the greatest potential in working together. This is how community and trust can grow. A little more every day.

Cooperations

Well networked - strong together

Close cooperation with a diverse network of partners is an integral part of our everyday educational work at Spatzennest. Through these partnerships, we enrich our children's learning, play and life - and create connections both internally and externally.

Networked thinking - shaping together

We are actively involved in:

    The inclusion working group
 The Allershausen childcare working group

This strong network enables us to support each child holistically - individually, professionally coordinated and always with a view to the child and family system.

Teamwork with school

From nursery to school - well prepared together
The transition from nursery to elementary school is an important step in a child's life - and is often associated with many questions for parents.
In order to make this transition as smooth, safe and positive as possible, we at Spatzennest work closely with the surrounding elementary school.
To this end, there are specially appointed cooperation officers for teachers and educators who regularly exchange information, plan joint activities and prepare information events for parents.
This creates reliable cooperation between kindergarten and school - for a strong start to the new phase of life.
Together, we accompany your child step by step into the next exciting stage of their educational journey.

Teamwork with parents

Growing together - hand in hand with families
At Spatzennest, you as parents are not only welcome, but also a valuable part of our community. We believe that children need strong connections - also between home and kindergarten.
The annually elected parents' council contributes ideas, wishes and passion. Together, we organize festivals, activities and get togethers in the building.
We treat every family with appreciation, openness and genuine interest. We see different cultures, ways of life and languages as a gift that enriches our everyday life.
We keep communication alive through development discussions, door-to-door exchanges and the annual parent survey - honestly, respectfully and always with the aim of achieving the best for your child.
We accompany your child along the way - and you go with us. That makes us strong.

Specifics

“Every child is unique - and very welcome here.”

“Every child is unique - and very welcome here.”

Diversity is a part of our life

At Spatzennest, being different is no exception - it's completely normal. Every person is unique. And it is precisely this diversity that makes our interaction lively and valuable.

Our principle:
The children do not adapt to the system - we design our system in such a way that every child can find themselves in it.

Welcome, just as you are

Whether child, parent or professional - anyone who enters the Spatzennest should feel welcome and accepted right from the start.

We live by the idea:
“It's normal to be different.”
Children meet each other with an open mind. They recognize differences, deal with them openly - and discover how valuable it is to help each other and learn from each other. The older children help the younger ones, experienced children accompany new children in everyday life. This creates a real sense of togetherness.

Special strengths, special needs

For us, these differences are not obstacles, but an expression of individual diversity. We see the child as a whole and treat them with respect, patience and individual support.

Strong together - as a team and in a network

We work closely together as a team to ensure that every child receives the support they need. We are also in contact with a broad network of specialists and institutions.

In this way, we create an environment in which diversity is not only accepted, but lived and valued.
