Current information

Welcome to the Zwergenland daycare center in Rodewisch!

The Zwergenland daycare center is located in a quiet but easily accessible location. Our building and our spacious garden, covering more than half a hectare, offer children of all ages plenty of space and opportunities to develop individually. Our facility has a capacity of 105 places. Of these, 18 are nursery places, 35 are kindergarten places, and 52 are places for after-school care children in grades 1 to 4. Thanks to the renovation of the after-school care area in 2021, we were able to expand the capacity from 25 to 52 places for after-school care children in grades 1 to 4. In addition, our daycare center has 3 integration places.

State-certified educators, childcare workers, and social pedagogues work together as a multi-professional team in our groups. The additional qualifications of our employees, such as those as nature education specialists, additional qualifications in curative education, and further training as childhood educators and experiential educators, enrich our educational work. Eleven educational specialists and three technical staff currently work hand in hand at our facility.

The child is at the center of our daily work. Every child is welcome at Zwergenland and is holistically supported in their individuality. With our resource-oriented approach, we recognize each child's uniqueness. Every child should experience trust, care, security, respect, and love, enabling them to grow into a stable personality. Children also need fixed rituals in their development, which they experience with us through a consistent and routine daily and weekly rhythm. Attending kindergarten creates and strengthens a sense of community. These first impressions, experiences, and influences shape the rest of your child's life and have a significant impact on their individual and holistic development.

For this reason, we work in a situation-oriented manner at our daycare center. This means that we accompany the children's educational and life skills processes with the aim of consciously promoting their autonomy, solidarity, and competence. The children's individual living environments always play a major role in this.

In addition, we want to focus particularly on the educational areas of nature, language, and movement. Thanks to various additional qualifications within the team, care is taken to automatically adapt everyday educational activities to these areas.

Registration

The transition from family life to daycare is a big challenge for every child. At the “Zwergenland” daycare center, we take this very seriously and try to make it as pleasant as possible for the child. We follow the Berlin acclimatization model.

Once a month, we offer a play afternoon. Parents and their little ones can use this opportunity to get to know the facility, the staff, and other children. This is also a good opportunity to talk to other parents and make initial contacts. At this first meeting, parents receive a folder with all the important information so that they can prepare well for the upcoming visit to the daycare center. The time and scope of the settling-in period are agreed individually with the parents and depend on the needs of the child.
