Introduction/specifics

Dear parents, dear visitors,

Welcome to the Kindergarten Rappelkiste e.V.

We are happy to introduce ourselves and our work here, but the digital media do not replace personal conversations and getting to know each other, because the family atmosphere is one of our characteristics.

We are a one-group kindergarten in the form of a parents' initiative. We work with 20 children an accompany them in their development. 5 of them are children from 2 years and 15 children over 3 years old.

Our kindergarten is located in a low-traffic zone in the Mixsiepen district (southern district of Remscheid).

Based on the pedagogical concept based on the situation-oriented approach, our work consists of putting the needs and interests of the children in the foreground and working on them within the framework of the educational mandate.

We look forward to positively supporting and accompanying every child in their development and independence. Of course, we create “space and time” for this.

We look forward to introducing ourselves in a personal conversation.

Daily Schedule

Our kindergarten opens at 7:30 am.

In the morning shift, two colleagues prepare breakfast and welcome the first children.

The children can be brought until 9.00 a.m. Then the morning circle begins.

From 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. the children have breakfast as part of a flexible breakfast. The buffet table, where six children can have breakfast at the same time, is accompanied by a teacher. After breakfast, each child washes their dishes, puts them back in their place for the next child and then brushes their teeth.

In the morning circle, for example, the respective daily routine is discussed and thus offers the children orientation for the day.

After the breakfast phase, the children go into free play, go outside with the teachers or take part in an upcoming project.

At 11.30 a.m. the children, accompanied by two teachers, eat the freshly prepared meal. After lunch the children brush their teeth. Accompanied by a teacher, some U3 children go to bed.

There is a general quiet phase until 2.30 p.m., during which the children can relax with quiet games (e.g. looking at picture books).

During the afternoon there is also a free play phase. The free play phases (in the morning or afternoon) are also used for a daily game outdoors or for a trip to the nearby forest.

Depending on the topic, we also offer various activities in which the children can, but do not have to, take part.

At 2.30 p.m. we offer dessert, which consists of freshly prepared fruit salads or quark dishes, for example.

We close the facility at 4:30 p.m.

Food

Children should grow up healthy. Good and healthy food is an important prerequisite for this.

We attach great importance to a healthy and balanced diet, both at breakfast and at lunch.

Breakfast is prepared by the teachers.
Lunch is freshly prepared daily by our own cook.

In the afternoon there is a "dessert", for example fruit salad or fresh yoghurt dishes.

Our children have special food preferences, some have allergies and intolerances and some follow religious diets. We take everyone into consideration and offer the appropriate alternatives.
