Current information

Introduction/specifics

The former "Altstadt-Kindergarten" is now called "Haus für Kinder Altstadt".

At the beginning of July 2020, the facility moved back into the newly constructed building and the renovated "Pavillon" on the Petzoldtstr. 8/Reichswaisenhausstr. 2 site. In September 2023, the new after-school care center started operating in the "Pavillon" and the "Bienenstock", in the Hans-Herbst-Haus, was taken over.

Thanks to a donation from the "Stiftung Kinderförderung von playmobil" foundation, a pirate ship has been built in the garden, which further enhances the children's adventure factor and playtime fun.

The facility offers a spacious new building with a large gym and beautifully designed rooms with additional play levels and play platforms.

The spacious garden area offers a sandpit with a water connection, a circular path for tricycles and other vehicles around the new pirate ship. There are swings, nest swings and a climbing frame for various types of exercise. There is also a partially covered outdoor area for spontaneous activities and snacks.

To give you a little insight into our facility, we have created a video of the nursery and crèche rooms. They do not show the children's everyday life. Due to the renovation and the takeover of the beehive, the videos no longer reflect the current situation and serve as examples.

Basics

The Haus für Kinder Altstadt offers space for a total of 149 children.

A maximum of 24 places are available for children of crèche age (from 1 year).

In the kindergarten section, we educate, care for and support a maximum of 95 children from the age of one until they start school:

75 children in the main building at Petzoldtstrasse 8
20 children in the beehive at Bodelschwinghstrasse 4
On the grounds of the main building, in a beautiful sandstone building (Reichswaisenhausstrasse 2), there are 30 after-school places for children of primary school age from the Luitpold School district, offering space to play, learn, grow, eat, relax, do homework and much more.

Our educational approach is cross-age and inclusive. It is important to us to focus on the support and development of all children. The children should be accompanied, supported and individually encouraged in their areas of development in such a way that they can actively participate in this community. All children learn from and with each other.

The children have the opportunity to visit each other in the different groups at different times during the day. Cross-group activities expand the children's range of experiences. The team offers specially coordinated activities as well as open activities on an alternating basis. Depending on the situation, the children's wishes and ideas are primarily taken into account when choosing activities or children are specifically motivated to take part based on observations.

Every child should be given the security and familiarity to explore themselves and their environment within a clearly structured framework.

"There is no standard for being human, it is normal to be different."
