Current information

Introduction/specifics

We are a three-group nursery and take care after 60 children aged from two years until they start school. Our nursery is located in a settlement away from the village of Osberghausen. The nearby forest invites to walks and explorations.
In the summer of 2014, our nursery was certified as a "House of Little Researchers". Our facility is part of a quality management system and received the DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certificate and the evangelical BETA seal of quality in 2012. Special features regarding the opening times: The opening times result from the annual parent survey to determine needs.

Rooms

Our nursery offers three main group rooms with adjoining rooms, which are designed together according to the interests of the children.
The first group room has a breakfast area where the children can have breakfast at the time they choose from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The room also offers parlor and rule games and the opportunity to do puzzles.
The second group room is our large painting studio with adjoining wood workshop, in which painting, handicrafts and woodwork can be done.
The third group is our building and construction room, in which the children can use a variety of materials to create buildings. Adjoining there is a role play area, which invites the children to dress up and express themselves in different roles.
The large sports hall is available to all children every day. The children's conferences and worship also take place there. For the care of our children under 3 there are two changing rooms with an integrated changing unit.
The staff room is available for employees to relax and serves as a protected place for meetings with parents.
There are also a kitchen, storage rooms and an office.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor area extends over two levels and can be reached directly by the children through the group room doors. Outside there is a large sandy area, a climbing frame and a swing. The paved yard gives children the opportunity to play with various toys and experiment with water tables. The second play level invites you to role play with a climbing house. We plant and care for our vegetable and flower garden with the children from spring onwards.

Daily Schedule

Our nursery opens at 07:00 a.m. All children should be brought by 9:00 a.m. at the latest. From 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the children can eat their own breakfast in the breakfast café. At 9:00 a.m. we start the day in each of our three groups with a meeting circle in which we talk to the children about the daily routine and the individual activities and sing togehter. The children can then go to the individual functional areas and play freely or take part in project work. At around 11:30 a.m. we end the morning with a final round, which again takes place in each of our three groups. From 11:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., children can be picked up in the sports room with a 25-hour booking. During this time, lunch begins for all children with a 35-hour and 45-hour booking. This is followed by the rest phase for our little ones, as well as free play and educational activities for all other children. The morning ends at 2:00 p.m. for all children with a 35-hour booking. Our children with a 45-hour booking can be picked up until 4:00 p.m.

Food

When it comes to eating, we value a balanced diet. Fruit, vegetables, water and tea are available for the children every day for breakfast. All children who are cared for at lunchtime receive a warm meal that is delivered fresh every day. Accompanied by an educator, the children independently choose their weekly menu plan from three different menus each week. The costs for lunch are collected from the provider in a monthly lump sum. In the afternoon we give the children a small snack.

Basics

Our mission statement is supported by Christian roots. It is the basis for pedagogical action and formulates the values and goals of our work. The child as a unique personality is our focus. We treat it with appreciation, respect and tolerance. We value holistic pedagogy in which every child with different requirements individually enjoys learning with all their senses. Working together in partnership, in which the children's wishes, needs and criticism are taken seriously, is a matter of course for us. Through established forms of participation, the children learn at an early age to adopt democratic behavior and responsibility for their own actions.

Employee

Depending on the position plan, an average of ten pedagogical specialists with a wide range of additional qualifications work full-time and part-time in our facility. In addition, the management of the facility is available for administrative tasks, quality assurance/development and pedagogical activities.
During lunchtime, the team is supported by a permanent housekeeper.
As a training company, we offer the possibility of practice-integrated training (PiA) or the professional recognition year to become a state-approved educator. The trainees are accompanied by a qualified practical guide during their training.

Additional Offerings

For the well-being of the children and to support our work, we maintain contacts with various institutions. In the Evangelical Church of Ründeroth, we take part in family services or invite the pastor to small services in our nursery.
In cooperation with health insurance companies and the health department, we organize projects on health and nutrition.
The traffic police Gummersbach supports us in the work with the prospective school children with different topics.

Teamwork with school

Preparation for school does not begin in the last year before school enrolment, but rather when the children enter the nursery. The joy of learning and the interest in new things should be the focus of learning. Children who come to school need certain skills in order to be able to cope with the diverse demands and demands in school.
Once a year we meet with the Ründeroth elementary school for a nursery - school conference, in which innovations and the upcoming school year are discussed.
In the spring, the elementary school invites all prospective schoolchildren to a taster lesson so that the children can get to know the premises and the forthcoming school atmosphere.

Teamwork with parents

Educational partnership between parents and nursery is the basis for a successful, partnership-based upbringing.
For us, this includes: reliability, openness, trust and respect. The parent talk is an important basis between the parents and the institution. In the dialogue, the development status, the upcoming school enrollment, funding opportunities and much more can be discussed. For the current exchange of information, we maintain "door and hinge talks".
An important partner is our parents' council. This is chosen from among the parents at the beginning of the kindergarten year. The parents' council represents the interests of the parents and works in a spirit of trust and partnership with the provider and the educational staff for the benefit of the children.
