Current information

The Kath. KiTa St. Rochus is a two-group facility and has been run by the Kath. Kitas Hochstift gGmbH since 2009. The facility offers places for children aged 2 - 6 years.

In accordance with an inclusive understanding, it takes into account the individual constitutions of the children. A secure bond and responsible interaction between children, pedagogical staff and parents creates the prerequisite for children to feel secure and develop individually. This aspect is lived out through a constructive educational partnership between parents and the pedagogical staff on site.

Rooms

Spaces and play areas

Children recognize, conquer and reflect the world through play.

Curious, stubborn, self-determined and motivated, they explore their environment and engage in social interaction with others.

The Kita St. Rochus sees itself as a place of learning where your child is accompanied by pedagogical specialists to discover, explore and understand his or her own world.

In the daycare center, all children have access to various rooms and play areas:

  • In the two group rooms and adjoining rooms, different areas are set up with different focuses, e.g. building and construction, creative design, research and experimentation, role play.
  • Each group has a checkroom area with adjoining washing and changing areas, which preserve the children's privacy through partitioned areas and privacy screens.
  • In the hallway and entrance area, a reading corner invites you to linger over stories and picture books.
  • A quiet and sleeping room, the "star room" is used as a sleeping room for the U3 children, for small group work, relaxation and fantasy journeys across groups.
  • On the upper floor, the children have access to a large movement room for a variety of movement experiences.
  • The outdoor area with its focus on sand and mud, running, romping, climbing, sliding, swinging, and balancing offers the children a variety of movement opportunities to try out.

Basics

Partially open work

Each child is valued in its entirety - body, mind and soul - as an individual personality and is accompanied, supported and encouraged in its development. This happens in an atmosphere in which the children can feel comfortable and accepted.

The pedagogical activities are based on the needs, interests and wishes of the children, as well as on their stage of development.

The children's central way of acquiring the world is through play and is therefore an important focus of our work. There are many opportunities for this. A major focus here is the partially open concept of the St. Rochus daycare center. The children have the opportunity to use a wide variety of play areas in the daycare center. Each group and adjoining group room offers its own opportunities for play.

In consultation with the pedagogical staff, the children can independently change rooms and areas.

Specifics

Religious education

The foundation of religious education is the basic attitude oriented and lived in the Christian image of man. The children experience themselves in relationship to themselves, to their neighbors, to creation and to God. They experience community and security, and openness towards other denominations and cultures.

The KiTa works according to the annual cycle and the church year. It organizes religious festivals and celebrations in close relationship with the church community.

Projects

Certification "Kita sustainable - fair - just".

In our first daycare center project as a fair, just and sustainable daycare center, we dealt with the topic of "garbage" and all became "garbage experts".

We learned how garbage is created, separated and how we can avoid garbage.

In various activities we recycled garbage, e.g. Tetra Packs became bird houses and flower pots; kitchen rolls, crown caps and Ü-eggs became various musical instruments, such as race lyres, jingle bells; our old defective handcart became a raised bed and peas were planted and harvested.

The visit of the company Remondis with the garbage truck was the highlight for the children in the course of the project.

Together, we, children, parents and pedagogical staff, will set out to protect the environment and to deal with the resources of our world in an appreciative, mindful and sensitive way and to live together.
