Introduction/specifics

We are a three-group kindergarten on the outskirts of Gechingen. In our facility, each child's individual life situation is at the centre of our educational work, and our actions are not random, but are based on the needs and life situations of the children.

Working in partnership with the children and their families is particularly important to us in our work.

Every child is welcome here, just as they are!

Children who are curious and enjoy trying out new things and discovering their world are in exactly the right place at our centre.

In our nature-oriented group, the children are out and about in the forest, getting to know the seasons up close and experiencing the changes in nature throughout the year. In our other two groups, nature and exercise in the fresh air are also part of the programme.

Special features that are offered once a week are

=> The preschoolers from all three groups meet every Wednesday for the preschoolers' meeting

=> Our reading mentors visit us once a week

=> We do gymnastics in the multi-purpose room at the Wiesennest daycare centre

=> On nature day we explore Gechingen and the nearby forest

=> ...

Rooms

There are three large group rooms in the Wolfswiesen kindergarten, which have been equipped and designed by the teaching staff to be child-orientated and stimulating for learning.

In our pavilion, the children have the opportunity to move around and let off steam. We use smaller adjoining rooms for small group work, our preschool meeting and meetings with our reading mentors.

We particularly enjoy our large and spacious garden. We can be found here whatever the weather.

Outdoor Facilities

We have lots of different play equipment designed for the different age groups in our centre.

Two large sandpits, small playhouses, an open space for games and much more offer the children the opportunity to play individually.

Large trees provide us with the necessary shade and make it possible for us to be outside for long periods even in summer.

Daily Schedule

Free play takes place from the start of kindergarten at 7.00 am until around 10.30 am. During this free play phase, the children have the opportunity to take part in prepared activities, have breakfast, take part in creative activities and much more.

At around 10.30am, the morning circle takes place, followed by an activity. We always work with the children on a specific topic, which is jointly determined by the children and teachers. Parents can find out which topic we are currently working on in the weekly timetable.

After the joint activities, we go into the garden together.

The children are picked up again at 12.00 noon or from 12.30 noon to 1.00 pm. The pick-up time is flexible and can be set daily.

On Tuesday and Thursday we are also open in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 4.00pm. Here, too, we start with a free play phase until around 3.00 pm, then have a short tea break and finish the afternoon in the garden or with a small final activity.

The group close to nature has a slightly different daily routine in the summer months. The children are at the kindergarten until around 9.00am and then set off for the forest. Breakfast is eaten on the way or in the forest. Special activities and a morning circle await the children in the nature-oriented group in the forest.

Food

There is a free breakfast in all three groups. The children bring a healthy meal from home and have the opportunity to eat breakfast at the prepared dining tables in the group room during the free play phase.

Drinks are available in the kindergarten.

On nature days and during gymnastics, the children should have a resealable drinking bottle with an unsweetened drink with them.

At parties, birthdays ... we always eat together.

We also prepare a meal together to go with our planning units and we eat together here too.

We also take part in the school fruit project organised by the state of Baden-Württemberg every year. Here, the children get the tastiest fruit and vegetables on the dining table free of charge.

Teamwork with parents

As educational professionals, we organise the child's care together with the parents in the sense of an educational partnership. Being a partner means for the co-operation of educators: Together for the child!

The educational professionals strengthen and support the parents as partners in their parenting skills by providing information and advice. This takes place in a variety of ways.

Our forms of co-operation are as follows:

=> First contact with parents with a tour of the building

=> Kindergarten information booklet with general information

=> Information evening for all "new" parents

=> Individual determination of the familiarisation phase

=> 1-2 parents' evenings for all parents

=> Letters to parents

=> 1-2 development meetings for each child

=> Brief discussions between "door and hinge"

=> Observations by arrangement

=> Various parties and activities with the parents
