Our concept is based on a partly open and comprehensive understanding of the education and upbringing of children. Our paedagogical framework follows the guidlines of the Hessischen Bildungs- und Erziehungsplan, as well as the teaching of christan faith and christian values. A more detailed explanations of our concept may be found at our webpage.

Our facility, which is located near a small park at the edge of the inner city, is part of the catholic downtown parish St. Simplicius, Faustinus and Beatrix, which is also responsible for the catholic day-care center St. Joseph and the day-care center am Frauenberg.

Rooms

Premises

Every day-care group has an open group room that comes with an adjacent sleeping area. Both groups share a bathroom with a baby chaning room, which includes sinks and toilets in a size suitable for children.

The two groups in the elementary level have spacious rooms with an elevated playing area and are also connected through a shared bathroom. All four groups are designed in a way to give the kids many different spaces to explore, play and learn. They are also planned and arranged to better accomodate the needs and interests of the kids.

An adjacent terrace connects every group to the surrounding outdoor area, which encicrles three sides of the building and offers the opportunity for fresh air.

Here there are several sandboxes, a big swing, a slide and a suspension bridge. Big trees offer shade in the hot summer and as well as several bushes to climb and play hide and seek.

Our gym offers plenty of equipment, motion elements and materials that create opportunities for different games and excercises. At the same time this room is used as a sleeping area for children over the age of three, who still need a nap.

In addition to the group rooms there is the big middle area für smaller groups. It is divided in six parts, which are designed in participation with the kids to align with their different needs and wishes.

Food

The food is supplied by a caterer via cook & hold system, meaning that the food is cooked fresh on a daily basis in the kitchen of the caterer and then delivered to us.

Basics

Our day-care center St. Blasius is modeled after the christian faith und practices. Our day-to-day life is based on appreciation, dignity und tolerance. We treat everyone with understanding and openness, independent of strengths and weaknesses, of language, religion und origin. We see the kids as builders of their own developement and as explorers of their enviroments, who want to participate actively, starting from a young age. Every kid is learning according to their individual blueprint, cause they want to understand the world and their place in it.

In the foreground of our work is the trusting relationship to the kids with loving attention und delicate care. Our assigment is to support the kids in their developement and to keep a waiting and observing posture.

Help me do it myself. Show me how it is done, don’t do it for me, i can and want to do it myself. (cf. Maria Montessori)

This enables the kids in close contact with us to explore and live an active learning process. We are reliable partners in their education and support the kids in finding their individual interests.
